the only problem i have with that is Williams. he couldn't run, field or throw. The 5 tools are; hit, hit for power, run, field , throw. Williams was also lucky that he was a lefty in fenway.
Those are your five tools, not mine.
You asked who the best player was, obviously we are going to have different interpretations of what that means.
those are the genral 5 tools. I've never heard any other tools. If anyone else around here as heard, Joe Morgan, Harold reynolds, etc. speak of any other tools, please tell me.

they haven't. But they do know the all-obvious 5 tools; hit, hit for power, run, field, throw. they are the regular 5 tools, not the Chris belhorn tools.

Give it a rest, cbfranchise. Trust me. Kid Swoosh makes these stupid threads all the time, which by the way, usually lean towards being really biased towards the Giants. Then, when you have an opinion other than his, he will brow-beat you to death as to why you feel differently, implying that you are dead wrong.
He's too young to understand that people have different opinions, always have and always will, and that that is perfectly ok. If you do not vote for a Giant player, then you are in for a futile argument because he just can't seem to get the brown-colored glasses off and realize that there are other teams/players in the MLB. Next time just give him your opinion and tell him that if he doesn't like it to shove it up his arse.

hey buddy, i am totally fine with people picking Ruth, who wasn't a Giant. I just want to know how he made the game what it is today, and how that pertains to the thread. many people have picked Mays as the best player ever, not just me.
As to this being a stupid thread, i started it really late at night when i was bored. Also, i don't see how this thread is any dumber than, the "best overall Player" thread in the NFL forum, which you've posted in, i believe.

flyingswoosh Wrote:there is no proof that he is taking illegal supplements. Chavlik randolph gained 30 pounds in one offseason. if he can do that, i think bonds can gain 25-30 pounds of muscle in 5 seasons. Also, if he were taking illegal supplements his body would break down, like Caminiti and Canseco, but it hasn't. maybe he's big and great because he works harder than every other player in the league. Ask gary Sheffield.
those drug charges are for his trainer, not him.
innocent until proven guilty.
Yes, there is without doubt any proof. He bulked up beyond belief. Listen, I took creatine, I worked out everyday, I had friends who took illegal drugs and the same things happened to them. He didnt just gain muscle. His neck grew insanely larger, his muscle contracted to beyond bigger then they used to, and other small steriod physical attributes. And do you know anything about steriods? Caminiti abused them...thats why his body broke down. If you dont abuse them and take too much, you can stay on them QUITE long. So that comparison goes out the window. Works harder...blah blah blah...then take the test if your not guilty. TAKE THE TEST. Just take and shut EVERYONE up! He knows 90% of this country questions him....even Giants fans.....
innocent until proven guilty? This is the 21st century. That went out the door a long time ago.

Bonds has to be on steroids. Just look at his head. It's massive. Until he tests and is proven not to have steoids in his body, I'll think he's on steriods.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a huge Cubs fan.(just to show I am not being biased)
That being said, there are three major figures in baseball that, if you don't believe they are {or were} on some kind of performance enhancers, then you are only fooling yourself. They are Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and the ex-player Mark McGwire. Look at pics of all three of them in their early days, they were all puny, skinny wimpish looking ball players, plain and simple. Now, they are all monsters, who can hit the ball 5 miles.
I'm not so foolish to say that it isn't possible that they didn't all work their tails off in the weightroom and do it "the right way". But come on, don't fool yourselves. They "built" themselves up to be better players, and the pressure to stay on top of the game obviously got to them all. I firmly believe that, even in Sammy's case, as much as I love the guy.
There are a lot of former and even present major leaguers who've said this is going on, so don't act like it isn't. It most definitely is.
Note: There are many other players using this crap, I just used the three most popular ones that everyone generally thinks of with this issue.

that's fair. Bonds definitely could be on steroids, but the truth is that we don't know.
There is no reason for him to take a steroid test, until he is forced to do so. Why should he go at of his way to validate his stats, to the fans?

Why should he? Because every media outlet in America has covered a steriod/Bonds issue...because half of baseball fans if not much more question it....AND because the entire baseball community would applaud him to no end for standing up and saying that he isnt on roids when his trainer is being indicted on it...

he doesn't care what people think. Wow the media can have another story, he doesn't care. if he didn't take steroids him and his family know that and they don't care what everyone else thinks. Bonds doesn't care what the world thinks.

And thats why people refuse to respect the man or what he has done. He can continue to care all he wants and it will just hurt his reputation and what people think of him when he leaves
