it's hard to pick a guy who never hits against lefties.

it's also tough to pick a guy who's hitting .255.

I know, but he's raking against righthanders. And there are no other second basemen having years that are that great. You critisize me picking Manny with his .255 average, but what's Kent hitting, like .260?

but kent plays every game, plays in a tough hitter's ballpark and plays a much better second base than utley.

Now that I look at the stats more closely, I tend to agree with you. Utley's only on pace for about 390 AB's.

he doesn't even qualify right now. combine that with the fact that he's probably in the best hitter's ballpark in baseball, sans coors.

Last time I checked, Manny is in the lineup everyday, against both lefties and righties.

but manny is hitting .255, and the other's aren't. i think you're getting mixed up. i think utley doesn't deserve it because of his lack of play against lefties, and the advantage of his ballpark. manny's ballpark is a huge advantage, but i never said that was the reason he shouldn't be in the all star game.

Cesar Izturis at SS??? Felipe Lopez is my vote.
In 13 less games and 81 less AB's Felipe has 7 more home runs, 5 more RBI's, the same amount of stolen bases, 3 more doubles and a slugging percentage .139 higher.

yeah, but he's hitting 30 points less, and isn't half the fielder that izturis is. izturis is the best fielding SS in baseball.

Last I checked Felipe has a fielding percentage .001 lower than Izturis' when he is at short (he occasionally plays 2nd).

i thought you knew something about baseball? fielding % means nothing. izturis gets to more balls than lopez, which causes him to make more errors. how's this for an example: mike schmidt's fielding % was .966, yet he was an outstanding 3rd baseman.

Cesar just doesn't do too much for me. He hits for average and he fields very well. Felipe does do everything well.
