I say Frank Robinson. I know Bobby has done a lot with a little, and for over a decade. But the Nationals are in 1st place, changing cities (I know the Expos were good last year), and gaining a lot of support.

Well, maybe he doesn't deserve it. But the Nationals deserve something.

umm, big papi doesn't even play a position. he's a DH.
DH's have placed highly before. Frank Thomas won it in '94 while playing a lot of games at DH, and Ortiz and Edgar Martinez have come close to winning it before. Saying a DH can't win it is about like saying a pitcher can't win it.
that's crazy. edgar was one of the worst fielders in the history of baseball. i find it highly unbelievable that edgar could ever come close to winning a gold glove. i can believe thomas. but ortiz has had a big 38 AB's at 1st, and i would assume that most of those are because he played interleague. how a guy who never plays a position could win a GG is beyond me.

Wake up, Francis. We're talking about MVP voting here, not Gold Gloves.

But what Cox is doing with this team is absolutely mindboggling. People think he did a great job last year, and he did, but that team was more talented than people realized. I felt in the spring we were good enough to win the division that year. But this year he's lost three starters who all had a good shot at the all-star game, his best offensive player, and has a team that has had as many as 10 rookies. The fact that he has us within 2.5 games of first warrants induction into Cooperstown today for Cox, IMO.

Robinson is a close second, however.
