Think he can continue his great performance from late last year in 2003? If he doesn't, do the Tigers have what it takes to be bowl bound again?

it all centers on the play of the offensive line. I think Whitehurst can be one of the top QBs in the ACC, we have solid backs and a great group of recievers. It doesn't matter what you have though if you can't block and last year we couldn't do that. With good blocking we can score a ton of points, we got some good redshirts in that area from last year, hopefully they can step right in.

Games are won and lost in the trenches. If we win the battle there, Charlie will look like an All American. If Charlie has to do it all on his own he will look second rate.

Great topic, fellas...

I think the only thing that will get into Whitehurst's head to stop him - is that drilling he got in the bowl game - other than that game HE WAS UNSTOPPABLE! Great future ahead for that young man.

last that I heard him and Bowden had a meeting and then were going to have another sometime last week but I haven't heard anything about that other meeting. I look for him to be gone.

Since this would be his last year as a Tiger, I wonder why he would consider leaving Clemson? I know he might be riding the pine but anything could happen to Charlie. Whitehurst could get hurt on the first play of the 2003 season. IMO, I think Willie should finish with the Tigers.

I agree Natch but he feels from what I have heard that he has a shot to make the NFL and you can't do that on the bench. So any playing time somewhere that he can make would in his eyes do him some good. I wish him luck no matter what he does.

"Shotgun" Simmons has to look out for himself - no shame in getting beat out of a job - but he must do something now to try to steal the spotlight somewhere else. I'm sure Clemson has got another rocket launcher behind Simmons that could step up. Clemson has been magnificent in QBs the last few years.

everyone seems excited about Stucky, he's already beaten out Proctor for what will be the two spot should Willie leave. He's more of your run and gun type of QB. The way everyone talks he's so good that they will probably go ahead and move him to somewhere else on the field just to get him in games.
