Great return, too bad there were some obvious clips on that one and will definitely bring it back.

40-14 and in the books! Great job today guys, nice day by Jarvis and his 179 yards which wouldn't be if not for the great job by the O-Line also great pressure by the D-line today to make things happen. now let's use the extra week to heal up and get ready for Ohio as we truly are in the driver's seat now.

Remember when I said something about some pre-game activity between the two teams?

Appears that Toledo was doing some dancing on the Kent logo at midfield.

Seems our players didn't take too kindly to that.

If that's your brother...he MADE an impression. We did talk about Jack.

P.S....at the scrimmage earlier this year, I introduced my son to Jack. My son plays NCAA2007 (not quite as much as me), but he uses Kent (just like me). Anyway, he used Kent against Ohio State and Kent #2 (Jack Williams) had four interceptions.

So, my son really wanted to meet him and he was excited!

Tell your brother thanks.

Jarvis is amazing.

He had one run in particular that was killer.

Fortunately for me, I subscribe to K-Zone, so I saw the play live then watched it again on K-Zone to make sure I saw what I thought I saw.

He took the handoff and started right, juked left to miss one would-be tackler, juked-left again to break another tackle and then spun out of another tackle to pick up some extra yards.

The Scout saw it too and watched the replays with me...his quote was, "wow, that kid is fun to watch."

Fun might not have been my choice of words...it was just amazing.

BTW, winning DOES appear to cure attendance ills and there CAN be Kent State fans -

Today attendance - 20,212

3 games over 20K! When has that happened before if ever? The OU game could be about the same. This game was also right up against the tOAMU - MSU game. Take us off the stupid probation list!

I am not going to ruin a 40-14 win with a senseless argument. I like Jack as a player, but I feel bad if he feels the same way as his brother. The fastest way to ruin a season is if people start pointing fingers once something goes wrong.

Howard against Akron, Drager against Temple and Jarvis against Toledo, Martin was not blowing smoke about his running backs.

Great game! The team was pumped after the pre game "festivities at midfield. I liked to see that. We have never really seen that kind of fight, or excitement from our team in the past.

The att. was pretty good once the game started. I sit on the press box side, and it bugs me every game to have about five people making noise. The student side was great yesterday, but we apparently cheer from a morgue. It would be nice to have more noise on our side, especially on visiting teams 3rd downs.

I will make sure Jack sees this. He will be very flattered. I will definitely tell him thanks. I always appreciate your posts.

Jack doesn't even know that I post on here. When I talk with Jack, its rarely about football, he lives it 24-7. These posts are strictly my opinions and MINE only.. Am I correct ?, who knows but they are opinions for message board banter.

Please elaborate on your comment about finger pointing? What feeling are you talking about that I am supposedly feeling?

Ouch, just saw this in the paper:

Quote:C'MON, YOU ARE BEING VERY UN-DUDE -- After growing comfortable in its traditional position as one of the "teams to beat" in the Mid-American Conference, you would think the Toledo Rockets would show a little more class in dealing with a rare losing season.

Watching Toledo head coach Tom Amstutz mumble through his post-game press conference Saturday, then walk out on reporters with a question still on the table made it easier to understand the Rockets players' disrespectful pregame antics at the 50-yard line of Dix Stadium.

All the jawing directed at KSU's players. The threat of defecation on the Golden Flashes' midfield logo.

Those are the actions of some pretty immature kids. I guess that's what you can expect from a team coached by a man who childishly pulls an I'm-going-to-take-my-ball-and-go-home act less after less than five minutes of being questioned by reporters.

It may also explain the five personal foul penalties called against Toledo while losing to 42-20 to Central Michigan a week earlier. One of those personal fouls resulted in the ejection of tight end John Kern for elbowing one CMU player in the neck, then intentionally stepping on another after a successful Toledo fake punt. Players tend to take on the character of their coach, and this Toledo team acts juvenile.

To be fair, I'm the reporter Amstutz insulted by walking out in the middle of a question. Is the above opinion a little sour grapes on my part? Maybe, but I don't think so. I asked a very fair question. With his response, Amstutz came across as a coach who can't handle losing.

*

THIS AGGRESSION WILL NOT STAND MAN -- Amstutz is lucky KSU had enough class not to fight for school honor on the field the way Miami and Florida International did Saturday night. Out-of-control teams tend to create ugly incidents. At Dix Stadium, the only ugliness displayed was on the scoreboard with Toledo on the losing end of an embarrassing 40-14 score.

To be fair to coach Amstutz, he did walk out, but he did so amid a bunch of noise outside the interview room.

I was sitting a few chairs from the reporter asking the question and I could barely hear him.

He shouldnt' have walked out, but criticizing him because he walked out isn't quite fair.

Amstutz could have waited a couple of seconds...but if you just got your butt kicked and then you were put in a room to ask questions you can't hear...what would you do?

He did answer quite a few questions...as did his players.

Quote:Williams should not have been redshirted, he could have contributed greatly that first year

Which reminds me of a question...does Jack Williams have any eligibility after this year? We sure could use him next year.

Jack redshirted in 2003, played in 2004, started in 2005 and starting in 2006. So, he should be back in 2007.
