One of the games I am really looking forward to is the Akron/Kent game on Thanksgiving Day. We'll be there!

Mrs. Freak and Grandma will be getting the turkey dinner ready while the boys and I will be watching MAC football! 04-rock We live 10 min from the Rubber Bowl.

Quote:And it was great two years ago coming from two TD's down to beat you at your place.

That was the most crushing loss I have ever experienced! :crying: But, I just need to remember that if we didn't lose, this really wouldn't be a rivalry anymore. Akron has won 8 of the last 10 years.

DOMINATION!

Bottom line is that Kent is not even Akron's rival in football. That matchup is like Holmes and Tex Cobb.

And Huskie boy, if we;re like the special olympics then NIU must be short bus light material since you lost to us. Go pick some more corn!

That Navy joke was pretty terrible even for Akron fans. Come back when you have a sense of humor. The point we bring up basketball is because that is what really should gall Akron fans. Nobody on either campus cares about football. Both teams are mediocre in their best years. So what you have had two +.500 seasons in a row. Besides, beating Marshall twice what has it really gotten you? You really capitalized having Charlie Frye. Attendance and NE Ohio media attention is way up. The Cleveland TV stations do not even know how to get to the Rubber Bowl and Dix. You have beaten KSU 8 of the last 10 meetings. Guess what? Everybody has in the MAC except Buffalo.

At least for those cold winter nights, you can go home after your basketball team loses and warm up by the fire in the trash can watching Charlie Frye preseason highlights.

God, now I'm even more embarrassed.

I had thought losing to Michigan was the nadir.

Wondered when a Chip was going to weigh in on K.D.'s effectiveness in the MAC.

Kent fans know all about losing to Akron. They can really help you through these "embarrasing" times, SH. Just think, they have endured it 8 of their 10 years. We'll see how much consolation NIU has for the flashies next week at Dix. 03-lol Good call 03-nutkick

Yeah, we got it about the 8 of 10 years already. It's only been posted 10 times in 10 different areas of this board. Just keep posting it on the smack board already. I'm sure it's there a few times already....

Thanks for coming to the Rubber Bowl to help our attendance & revenue while watching Kent get smashed...a win/win situation for all deserving parties. Will you still come to our games when we have a new stadium on campus, 10 miles from the R.B.?

The answer is we don't know. Apparently, the location and the plan are set, but they are in the process of gaining the funds without raising tuition. It is taking way too long though. 03-banghead
