No, that's not right either. 24-17 kept us undefeated in MAC play while giving Marshall a conference loss. I put us a leg up on winning our division, while Marshall's early loss to Toledo put them in a hole. Maybe no one outside the conference DOES remember it....who cares? It happened, you know it happened, and trying to ignore it and making excuses for it and rationalizing it with "we won last year!" doesn't change it. Don't turn the ball over and you win all your MAC games?! Yeah, right. Has it occurred to you that SOME defenses FOCUS on CREATING turnovers? Check out the conference leaders in TO margin. There's a REASON you turned the ball over.

So your win over us DOESN'T matter. As far as turning the ball over.......if we don't do it we beat anyone in the MAC.........let me guess, the ground is on your side.......you all intentionally taught the ground to knock the ball out of Earl Charles hands on that one fumble. I don't care what you think.......a turnover is an offensive mistake (being careless with ball, or throwing into double coverage, etc..) it's not a defensive play.............let me repeat for you again...........A TURNOVER IS AN OFFENSIVE MISTAKE, NOT A DEFENSIVE PLAY!!! If we hang on to the ball and make good decisions then we don't lose a game in the MAC.........Period.

Pokey, you are right to a point...our win over you NOW means nothing other than bragging rights. With our loss to BSU, we're in the same boat...we control our own destiny, but we must win out. No margin of error for either of us now.

Certainly TOs are offensive mistakes. But they are not all unforced errors. THAT was my point. If a ball carrier, for instance, is hit by one player while another is working on stripping the ball, or a helmet is rammed into the ball from behind, there's a darn good chance that ball's going to come out of there once in a while. It's not ALWAYS the ball carriers fault...nobody playing the game wears a blue and red suit with a big S on his chest.

Heck yeah, that win makes me feel good....it was THIS year, and like I said...for now, it gives us bragging rights. It wasn't last year with a loss following it. I feel damn good.

Face it, Marshall is definitely Toledo's *****. Particularly when Marshall isn't allowed to cheat.
