At least we HAVE fans. 05-nono

You worry about your fan.

We'll worry about ours.

GB - NIU had its three biggest home crowds ever last year, so I know you aren't railing on us for not having fans.

And if you recall, you introduced "obsessed" to this thread. But keep spinning it and I'm sure in your mind it'll look like I said it first.

I'm not spinning... point it out to me please.

Ah, yes, who is obsessed now?

Yep, because a 4-8 team in Huntington would draw oh-so-well...(your final home game last year debunks any attempt for you to spin that)... Our average attendance was over 20K for our first two home games last year, until we went into the tank. We'll be fine.

A Herd fan's response after receiving an ******-kicking: Put fingers in ears and scream "attendance!" as loud as you can...

"your final home game last year debunks any attempt for you to spin that."

Uhh.....Hello.....
I was at that game last year.

The problem was:

1)Friday at 12 noon - day after Thanksgiving
Only women are off that day- shopping ; All of the men are working; so that the women can go shopping the day after Thanksgiving.

2)Freezing Rain that is the coldest I have ever been at a Game . That includes the "infamous" 1997 MACC Game with Toledo that is known as the "Snowbowl" in Huntington. Nothing that I have ever experienced, as far as weather at a Football Game, was more misrable than that day.

Put the game on the next day(instead of worrying about TV Broadcast) - "when everybody is not working for a living" you've got your standard 29-30K for that game.

BSu only had ONE game that had HIGHER attendance than our LOWEST attended game...

BSu's Highest = 23,594 Indiana State 8/28
MU's Lowest = 19,113 Ohio 11/28

BSu's next highest attendance was...
18,396 Miami (OH) 10/18

BSu's average was... 14,717

MU's average was... 27,837

You can check it out here...

Thanks for proving my point for me.... you guys are just way too predictable.

But I have to note that you have your facts wrong... AGAIN...

Quote:Testicle Techs last game attendance (at home) was 5,075

Uh, wrong. That was our last *road* game at EMU. Our last home game was against BG at home, and drew 8,325. Which by nearly everyone's admission, is a far more accurate count than Marshall's for their last home date (some honest Herd fans were admitting the week after the game that there were only about 10-12K in the house for that OU game in Huntington)...

Admission?
Don't you have that cornfused with ESTIMATION? Hmm? I mean, seriously, I've gone to games where I thought there were easily 37-38,000 at Marshall, when there was only 32k. I've been at games where I thought the stadium wasn't as crowded as they reported.

One thing though, none of those people were ticket counters at the stadium. So, their "admission" is about as worthy as your "opinion", which means that and $1 will get you a cup of java in Miami.

Quote:My friends and I were intrigued. We also know that Ball State has been notorious for double and triple clicking people at the gates in order to achieve their coveted attendance marks.

Quote:So after a little thought, we decided to sacrifice being counted in the attendance marks, and went to the game and count for ourselves. We took digital pictures of the stands, came home, and counted each person. We found that there were 3,249 fans there at the start of the second quarter, a time when the stands would be as full as they would get. Imagine our surprise, then, when we saw that the printed attendance figures were 8,325. Where did those extra 5,000 "ghost fans" come from? Sure, there were some people walking around the stadium, not in the stands, but 5,000? Lets get serious. We will even spot the administration a couple hundred people for football personnel and team members on the field. The total still falls well short of 8,325. I am curious as to where these numbers came from. Is the Athletic Department blatantly lying to us?

03-nutkick

Quote:What is even sadder is that a crowd of 8,325 is still a poor showing for a D-1A football game. The high school in my hometown of Dublin, Ohio, like many other Ohio high schools, constantly drew 8-10,000 for its home games. And that is high school.

The 8,325 is not debatable. The letter TJRocket posted has been well debunked (and was obliterated here previously, too) as the product of a bitter track athlete who was upset his program was being shut down. He has been told to offer up undoctored photo evidence to prove his case... he has refused to do so. Meanwhile, the athletic department is in posession of photos taken by several other fans that day that prove his claims are bull****. Also, the attendance numbers at Ball State have been audited and verified.

If BSU was going to artificially inflate their attendance numbers, don't you think they'd inflate them for that game to 10K or so, so our attendance average would have been above 15,000 per game? The fact that it wasn't tells you that that the athletic department is telling the truth and playing by the rules, and the kid has an ax to grind.

As for the claims about the Herd-OU game, they were on your own Herd boards... go look for 'em, unless they got deleted for straying from the party line. I'm not going to bother linking to them, since I don't link to boards that allow their members to post death threats against opposing fans without taking action against the offending poster, as the Sheltered Workshop did last week...
