But, of course we'll never know, but man, did S-Miss ever have a poor QB and offense. El stinko.
USM did stink it up in the Liberty Bowl. Their offense was really suspect (they hired the coach we fired for his inept offenses) and it showed!

BG, NIU and Toledo would have beaten any C-USA opponent sent their way this season. BG would have smashed them, and saying otherwise is a confession of pure football ignorance. The frigging Buckeyes needed a last-second INT to beat them in Cowlumbus this year.

And a lot of good that undefeated season did Tulane... they nearly dropped football last year.
How many times have MAC teams played CUSA teams? Aside from Miami drubbing Cindy (BTW...I loved that!) we just don't play each other.

And the teams you listed wouldn't have cake-walked through CUSA as you suggested. Saying that just showed your ignorance of college football outside your own sheltered region. And the Buckeyes were quite possibly the most overrated team this year (well, behind TCU)!

Try Oklahoma, along with the most overrated QB which made the Heisman voting committee look like a bunch of idiots in their final voting. Remember the Buckeyes didn't have much problem beating K State in the Fiesta Bowl, who dominated (supposedly all-mighty-nobody-can-touch us)Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game a few weeks prior.

1995 - 11-0-1

We also went 10-1 in 2000 and 11-2 in 2001. That's as close as you can get to undefeated.....well the 10-1 season at least.
Yeah, but those really don't count...:D...we went 9-0-1 in 1963 and tied the the defending national champions. [/quote]
Oh, they count. So does your 9-0-1 season in 1963 when you tied the defending national champions.

Those are the things that make up something called Tradition.

I don't have any pull in the athletic department so I don't know what they would do.

I personally think that C-USA would have to offer Toledo, Miami, and BG to get any of them to go and then it would be all three. Otherwise it doesn't make enough sense to me, IMHO.

Didn't ask me, but I'm going to throw my opinion out there just for :D Toledo does NOT go to CUSA if offered. Why? $$$$$$$ Don't have 'em. Not for the exit fee, not for an entrance fee. If everything else is equal or better in CUSA than the MAC, that alone would keep UT right where they are. I don't see Sullivan tossing another Million our way just to jump conferences. I know there are some wealthy alumni out there, but I really don't believe they'd toss that kind of money into a conference move. Just guessing, mind you.

All feelings aside, the key decision would be based on financials. If you think "tradition" of MAC play is more important, you are probably wrong. Every circumstance is different, but in UCF's situation, we will profit $1 million in CUSA versus lose $80K play by playing in the MAC. Basketball is even more important, CUSA vs. A-Sun- black and white. The travel appeal for CUSA is 1000% better with major markets and airports (New Orleans, Houston, Memphis, Birmingham etc..). Finally, if CUSA loses 1/2 of their bowl tie-ins, they still sit in the same situation as the MAC. Plus, UCF will be making a push for the Tangerine Bowl to have a CUSA tie-in.

I'm just going to throw this out for discussion/thought as someone who has been through the whole-stinking conference rotation crap before...

The discussion on here just about follows the pattern of the discussions when Loserville and Cindy were being discussed as Big East expansion candidates.
