It's a final. UB beats Niagara 95-92 in double overtime!!!!!! 04-rock

I like the play-by play guy's comment before the commercial- They will present the post-game but it won't do the game justice. 04-bow

Mark Bortz had over 30 points.

Interestingly, the first game of the doubleheader also went into overtime- the Niagara women beat the UB women in overtime. Long night for the fans, but I don't think anybody is complaining.!!

EMU outlasts a surprisingly quick Canisius club 86-72. This was an entirely different game from the close win over Marshall 11/30. Canisius doubled Bowler in the paint the entire game and out rebounded the Eagles by 10. Eastern played a half court game for most of the contest pulling away in the last 7 minutes. Markus Austin had 25 pts and, I believe 8 rbs and 7 assists. Danny McElhinny canned 6 treys in the first half and ended up with a career high 20. Michael Ross hit two key treys in the last 3 minutes to seal the Griffin's fate.

Eastern's 4-1 now and will meet North Dakota State next Saturday for a "Retro" game. EMU will wear retro uniforms for the match. There will be a Legends game following the game with the Bison. Some of EMU's greatest former players will play an exhibition.

Here's the brief AA _News_ covereage of tonight's game.

EMU: Thanks for beating Canishit. Some of their fans are annoying.

Recently got back from the UB Vs. Niagara game....WOW

I think i almost had a heart attack like 6 times. Refs were awful, Also Juan Mendez as great a college player he may be...is a ******, he is gonna have to stop whining and crying after everythime someone barely touches him. Twice i saw him laying on the court and got right back up and was fine. Hes a classless player.

UB BULLS 95 NIAGARA 92

Huge game for Mark Bortz 32 points, 13 rebounds

Flashes were sleepwalking through the first half, down 10. Three minutes into the second half were down 19! Suddenly, we came to life and went on a furious 24-7 run and cut the lead to 2 by the 9:30 mark. Game stayed close after that and we played much of the second half with 4 guys having 4 fouls. Only Cutley fouled out finally. Haynes took the game over once we got down big and was completely unstoppable.

An awful basketball game, really. The rabbit-eared refs--who stopped play to throw out some CSU fans--never let a flow develop. Calls of some kind every 10 seconds. First half took almost an hour, I kid you not.
