Sorry I didin't respond earlier...I was out of town and didn't get to this one until now.

I never refuted that Memphis had anything other than a soft defense. But to think I made some remark that I should feel "pretty stupid" about...sorry, I couldn't find it...at least not in the thread you referred to.

Bowling Green showed up in the 2nd half...Memphis didn't. It was that simple.

I guess when you have a team that's not worth following, you have nothing better to do than to throw around insults about other teams...not even ones that show any depth of knowledge either. Wow...you saw that our D gives up points in bunches...congrats...you must be a genius.

Why don't you focus more of that energy into getting more than a handful of people to show up to a MTSU game? I've been at high school games with better attendance (seriously).
It probably will be an eternal struggle for Middle Tennessee to have the attendance numbers you see at Memphis. The Memphis area is much larger in population than the Nashville/Murfreesboro area. Not only that the Nashville/Murfreesboro area is home to Vanderbilt and Tennessee State as well as an NFL football team and an NHL hockey team.

Realistically, as big as Memphis is, there really isn't much to keep people away from a Tiger game.

And CUSA is a higher profile conference than the Sun Belt and casual fans know that. For Middle Tennessee to get better attendance-wise, the whole perception of the Sun Belt will have to change. That perception of change starts by it's members beating teams from other 1-A conferences. Casual fans in the area of Sun Belt schools won't want to watch a game that they know if just going to be filled with negative energy inside the stadium because of a loss especially to a team from another non-BC$ or a 1-AA team.

As far as me helping MTSU get fans in the stands? Believe me. I do my part. I'm not just some ordinary fan who walks into the stadium and sits on their @ss for four quarters. We have alot of those kinds of people too.

You have done an admirable job on this thread. I can only hope some of these boys come back to play after the SVC tomorrow. I really feel for the MAC this bowl season. Any mid-major conf. needs to have a respectable showing in the few bowl appearances they get. N. Texas was a supreme letdown for the SunBelt, and the MAC has been even more disappointing, although the Miami game was at least competitive. I wish NIU the best of luck against my Trojans in the SVC, and even more luck next year in the Big House. But just know that until the mid-majors start beating these BCS teams, any smack we talk is a waste of time, like a blind man going to the topless bar.

Wow someone finally gets it. Smack from Troy fans would be fun and something the Men of Troy deserve to do. Just when someone starts talking smack, where there team hasn't been to a bowl prolly in their lifetime, it is kind of hilarious. Sad also because he has no life but troll other boards and make an a$$ out of himself in front of more people than just his own conference's fans.

Remember that "god-awful" Memphis defense went 8-3 and finished 2nd in a "now" competitive Con-USA. Pretty good for not having a defense and finishing second where 5 teams are bowl eligible. How many teams again did the SunBelt have that were bowl eligible, or wait, how many teams in the SunBelt had winning records? Doesn't matter which question you answer because the answer for both are still the same.

and psssst.....that same USM team that you are campaigning for the national title, lost to that "god awful defense" from Memphis.

I could care less about Nebraska and the archives you have searched deep for because the past means nothing today or me. Nebraska is on a crash course for disaster and will be a long time before things gets situated there.

and if u come back and tell me you picked NIU over Troy I will call u a blatant liar. No way someones hatred for the MAC would pick a MAC team over their own conference.
