Not many changes in mine...UF and SC move down a notch
1. Tennessee - beat a solid MTSU team by 23 (Btw, what's up with that late fumble by the MTSU QB that gave UT the last TD? UT won by 23...line was 22...hmm. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> ) (LW #1)
2. Georgia - bye (LW #3)
3. Florida - crushed by Miami...still a top team in the SEC, but that was ugly (LW #2)
4. Arkansas - blasted Boise State (LW #4)
5. LSU - The Citadel? (LW #5)
6. Auburn - destroyed Western Carolina (LW #6)
7. Alabama - lost to Oklahoma, but blew a chance to win late (LW #7)
8. Ole Miss - offense struggled early, DL looked good (LW #8)
9. Kentucky - 77 points! (LW #10)
10. South Carolina - lost to UVA...UVA looked terrible its first two games (LW #9)
11. MSU - bye (thank god) (LW #11)
12. Vandy - Coach Johnson beats previos employer (LW #12)

1. Tennessee - Defense wins championship. They have lost two top starters, but they have depth and talent across.
2. Georgia - Only team with comparable talent to UT.
3. Florida - Actually Gators had a lot of breaks go their way against Miami. Gators have a potential upside, but the potential for a big downside looms too.
4. Alabama - my surprise #4. A team with nothing to lose is a scary team. Talent at RB, LB and on both sides of the line.
5. LSU - Saban can coach, don't read too much into the Virginia Tech game.
6. Auburn (tie) - didn't play all that bad against the real USC. Cadillac is the best RB in the conference. They need a QB to step up.
6. Arkansas (tie) - cupcake schedule keeps them in the hunt.
8. Ole Miss - Manning wasn't all world yesterday, but still managed 3 TD passes in an off game.
9. South Carolina - Lost too much talent to graduation. Off field problems seem to be affecting their play.
10. Kentucky - When did these guys start playing with a swagger? Morris has rejuvinated them, could be this years surprise.
11. MSU - (bye week). If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Therefore, no comment.
12. Vandy - New chancellor and new coach, both with a new committment to athletics. The longest journey starts with a single step.

Here's my new ones for the week.
1) Tennessee - I thought the Vols would beat MTSU by a lot more, but I'm starting to give the Blue Raiders some more credit. Easy win nevertheless.
2) Florida - Moves down a notch after the Miami game. Just didn't have it all last night...and the Canes are just THAT good..easily a #1 team.
3) Arkansas - Defensive stats: 7 sacks, 1 forced INT, 2 fumbles recovered...in the FIRST HALF. Houston Nutt got just about everyone in the game, a rout over the pre-season WAC #1 team (Boise was picked over Fresno State). Definitely the best opener of any SEC West team.
4) Georgia - Victim of the bye week drops them one. They'll move up prolly in the next few weeks.
5) Alabama - Franchione was right, they should have beaten Oklahoma. Suprising offensive power against the Sooner D brings them up considerably in this poll. Scary team to play against.
6) Auburn - Ran thru the 1-AA cupcake called Western Carolina so fast they forgot to peel off the wax paper before devouring 'em.
7) Ole Miss - Good second half performance against Memphis...but if Eli keeps having these slow first halves...the Rebels will be in holes they can't climb out of. Big game @ Texas Tech this Sat.
8) Kentucky - This is a gift ranking. The Wildcats are 2-0, more than a lot of teams can say. 77 points is a stunner, and the Wildcats might be a lot better than what most think.
9) LSU - Still unimpresssed with the Bayou Tigers. Started off very slow this season. Should've won this game by 35, instead they only scored 35.
10) South Carolina - I called them losing to Virginia (see article in NCAAbbs Overtime). Lou only had 9 starters returning, the Gamecocks are too young and too inexperienced to make a serious run this year.
11) Miss. State - Bye week to prepare for Jacksonville State and the female kicker. No way the Bulldogs should lose that game.
12) Vanderbilt - They won, but against Furman. Enough said. They'll need a more impressive win to get out of the cellar.
