I absolutely hated the quarter system one of the reasons I left Tech.

It has its advantages. I got my bachelor's degree from Tech, endured the quarter system for 4 years. Not a big deal, an easy adjustment. I also hold degrees from two other universities on the standard semester and took courses at four other universities, also on the semester system. Like anything else in life, it just takes understanding the parameters.

Interestingly, Stanford and the Oxbridge colleges have quarters too. Stanford allows their students to do a quarter at Oxford. Would love to set up a similar exchange program for Tech (I think it was at Pembroke College Oxford)

I transferred from SWLa (semesters) to Tech (quarters). Absolutely 1 million times preferred quarters.
