RE: October Consumer Confidence: Massive jump
Consumer confidence has likely risen in October as the public becomes aware of the shellacking headed for the GOP a week from tonight, and the subsequent likely reigning in of destructive Trump policies.

RE: October Consumer Confidence: Massive jump
I see trump, Baghdad Eric, and Umabla are still struggling with math. The index was up 7.5 points, not 7.5%, which mathematically corresponds to about an 8.9% month-over-month increase.

Additionally, while this is one indicator, many also use the University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index in conjunction with the Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index.

Their numbers paint a less rosy picture.

Quote:October 23, 2026

ANN ARBOR—Consumer sentiment held steady this month, registering just a scant one-tenth of an index point below September, according to the University of Michigan Surveys of Consumers.

The Consumer Sentiment Index fell to 48.0 in the October 2026 survey, down from 48.1 in September and below last October’s 53.6. The Current Index fell to 46.7, down from 50.9 in September and below last October’s 58.6. The Expectations Index rose to 48.8, up from 46.3 in September and below last October’s 50.3.

Increases in sentiment this month among Republicans and Democrats were balanced by declines among independents. While year-ahead business conditions improved about 14%, they stand 16% less than last October’s read.

“This month’s decline in the Current Conditions subindex was driven entirely by buying conditions for durable goods, which plunged 18% on the basis of higher interest rates and rising concerns about the affordability of such purchases,” said U-M economist Joanne Hsu, director of the surveys. “Purchasing power continues to dominate consumer views of the economy. Sentiment is now 10% below a year ago and 15% below February, just prior to the Iran conflict.”
As concerns over purchasing power dominate, consumer sentiment moves sideways

RE: October Consumer Confidence: Massive jump
If the Dems do win, it will be hilarious watching:

1. Any and everything they pass get vetoed because anything they do is bad for the country

2. The low IQ tards who vote for them think the group of idiots led by Pedo Joe who brought you the sky high inflation and prices in the first place will bring them back down like they are promising on the campaign trail

Such stupid people who vote Dem. Window licking, struggle to find their way out of the house each day level stupid

Yeah...no. Do you need a link for another Vagisil purchase?

Quote:NEW YORK, Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index rose by 7.5 points to 91.7 (1985=100) in October, up from 84.2 in September (a slight upward revision). The Present Situation Index—based on consumers' assessment of current business and labor market conditions—increased by 8.6 points to 120.4. The Expectations Index—based on consumers' short-term outlook for income, business, and labor market conditions—recovered by 6.9 points to 72.6, only partially reversing three consecutive monthly declines. The survey period for this month's preliminary results was October 1-21.
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases...20731.html

You wanna try that math calculation again?

It rose from 84.2 points to 91.7 points. That's 8.9%.

Percentage increase = (New value − Old value) ÷ Old value × 100

Step 1: Find the change
91.7 − 84.2 = 7.5

Step 2: Divide by the original value
7.5 ÷ 84.2 ≈ 0.08907

Step 3: Convert to a percentage
0.08907 × 100 ≈ 8.91%

So the index rose by about 8.9%.

If these are index points, the increase is 7.5 points. The percentage increase is 8.9%, which is a different figure.

FFS, the percentage increase was greater than you said, take the L. 03-lmfao
