Yeah...and...
A poster just said that he believes or trusts CP and uses that as a source for credible information. The VAST majority of CP's threads are links to dubious outfits that are generally pretty unreliable or extremely biased.
Such esteemed institutions like:
The Gateway Pundit
The Post Millennial
Red State
Random substacks...which are mostly just someone's blog
Or some random twitter account
To be fair (and specific), Tom ... TB4E posted this: "I get most of my information from here, CP, or from other online sources."
He did not say he "he believes or trusts" those sources (as you note). He simply gets info (some of which he likely feels is not credible) from those sources.
I go to multiple sources to seek news. Sometimes I find info from those sources believable and sometimes I don't.
Maybe I'm dabbling in semantics, but ...
Having said this, I do find some of the sites CPhantom posts as highly dubious and lacking credibility.
Thanks, I was just going to respond to that. tommie can be a bit hyperbolic, as we all know.
The thing about most of CPs posts is that he does the same thing I do when creating a thread, and that is to copy and paste the headline first as the topic, then I copy it in the actual thread and use it as a link to the story, then I paste the article, or if it's long, I'll paste just a bit of it and provide a link again at the bottom.
CP doesn't usually deviate from that format. He is providing a story and a link to it, usually without commenting on the veracity of the story or the nature of the source. He allows one to form their own judgment.
Good points.
I kind of like that CP rarely comments on the articles he posts. I simply wish he would reduce the number of threads (as Stink notes ... it can somewhat clutter the board). And I wish Gitanole would reduce his thread numbers, too.
There's a little wheel thingie on your mouse thingie that makes scrolling supr nifty and quick.
I would rather it be cluttered than empty.

Back in the day, one of the "requirements" for this forum was that you had to defend your position.
They frowned upon just posting a story from another website unless you added something to it. And truthfully, all it does is drive traffic on the other site linked. Also, if I/we want to read The Gateway Pundit and RedState, WE'LL GO ******* READ IT!
I miss the old old days.
MTSRGA
I wasn't reading this board back then, Tom. Sounds like it was more controlled and civil at that time.
Yeah....not really. You had to have a thick skin and fight back with wit and intellect. Today, nobody here can take much of anything without quickly going to the least common denominator.
But there were some basic principles most all followed.
This place started going to the dogs when ESPN shut down their boards and a bunch of keyboard warriors infiltrated here.
No darn wonder why you always look so bruised and battered.

As you were, folks.
And do we want to track how many rightie apologists there are in this thread and board? The data would not be in your favor but of course there would be calls that the numbers faked.
There are clearly some rightwing apologists on this board, Mr. X. I try to be respectful of them because I want to engage/debate them (just like I want to engage/debate the lefties). Slamming the righties (not suggesting you do that) does no good for me.
Excellent point and I agree. I can admit that some of my posts could come across as attacking all on the right but I bet any one of those is probably sarcasm at the ones on the right that speak in absolutes. R - Good, L - evil.
Years ago, while in grad school, I was looking at writing my thesis on an aspect of communication on this board and also looking at the same kind and f communication in a different form of media. I coded the first 10 pages of threads by poster political leaning. Over 80% of threads where by right leaning posters. I stopped at that point because of the pool imbalance but still find it laughable the persecution complex some have.

Various lefties have departed (seemingly). Where's Bondsjon? Tanq? Krucif has been gone for some time. I'm glad you post, Mr. X. Sometimes it seems some righties on this board want to the board to only for conservatives. I want to read a diversity of opinions and views.
