They do. Usually top 25 at least and some years higher. Coach Heefner was asked if he had any interest in the Rice job before Cruz was hired. Guess you can figure that out without me explaining it. Heef' is a great guy, has his program on the right track at a great small school. Doesn't have to compete with football since they don't have that. Our church had him speak at a Men's breakfast once, and after that I went up and chatted with him. My son actually works in Media Services at DBU now and interacts with Heef' somewhat routinely. He runs a very clean program which produces outstanding teams and players who graduate on time. What more could one ask? On top of that he has support from the likes of Berkman and Pettite.

Louisiana Tech and Conference USA both report that they have reached an agreement for Tech to move to the Sun Belt Conference in July.

Is LSU in play? Might the AAC get them as a conference-mate for Tulane and Rice if the SEC really does kick them out (they won't)?....

Could LSU soon be available to move to AAC or ACC? Just imagine the possibilities if such a move actually happened. For instance, if they moved to AAC, they'd win every year and get the G6 auto-bid and be guaranteed to be in the Playoff. Wouldn't that actually be better for them than duking it out in the SEC (yeah, the money would be a lot different, but with LSU in the AAC, the league contract would get renegotiated, most unbalanced in LSU's favor, but still.) I know it's not going to happen, but like playing the lottery, one gets a few days to fantasize about what they'd do if they actually won...
