34-0 OHIO now.
Now 48-7
OHIO is giving its depth players more experience including Irving Brown who broke a big run for a TD.
We are also alternating between Vezza and Davis each drive to get them both reps. Good to see 2nd and 3rd stringers getting more game experience.

Final out west:
OHIO 48, Sacramento State 7.
This sets up two big TV games at the top of the standings next Saturday:
Western Michigan (3-0, 5-2) at Toledo (2-1, 5-2), 12:00pm, CBS Sports Network
Eastern Michigan (3-1, 4-4) at Ohio (3-0, 5-2), 4:00pm, ESPNU
Should be fun!

Toledo and WMU is the better game. Miss on ESPN. EMU isnt good. They fed on the schedule and UMass hype. So mad Toledo has a nooner as a night game school. 4:30 or whatever would be a better time.
Noon on the cbsssssssn... suck it. But we lost to UB so it is what it is. Ohio should pound the Eagles. Toledo may be semi fixed... Those are the top 3 teams for sure though. So why-ever the contract is, why did we miss on last week's games with no tv? I just don't get the tv deal? If games are on the +, schools should choose the time.

It might have something to do with Ohio being undefeated in the MAC and at home against a team that is 3-1 in the MAC.
Also having the nation's longest home winning streak at 16 to defend on national TV doesn't hurt.

Updated Chances to win the MAC. The first is teamrankings.com computer projection. The second is the current betting futures. WMU is getting close to even money. Toledo and Ohio are close and the two disagree about which has a better chance.
Western Michigan 42.3% +105
Ohio 25.6% +350
Toledo 22.6% +300
Miami 5.8% +1200
Buffalo 2.0% +2500
Eastern Michigan 1.2% +2200
Central Michigan 0.3% +10000
Bowling Green 0.2% +2500
UMass 0.0%
Kent St. 0.0% +20000
Ball St. 0.0% +50000
Akron 0.0%
Sacramento St. 0.0%

RE: *MAC Consolidated Game Thread: Saturday (17 October)*
I myself wouldn't put WMU so much at the top. Granted, we got our rivalry game @CMU out of the way and won it, but it showed how we can mishandle a game when we have a lead and points to a pretty low chance we'll go undefeated. We have @Toledo next week, who can be a very different team During a game from one half to the next, and of a game too -- but I would put Toledo as the favorite (and looking right now as I type this, Toledo is a -3.5 favorite; I'd put it at -6.5).
Ohio, IMO, thought would take more to adjust for the better with their early season injuries but they seem on point, and they'd be my choice for highest chance to win the MAC. Of the not-that-easy games (for themselves may be part of it too)...
Western Michigan: @Toledo, BGSU, EMU, Miami
Ohio: @Miami, Toledo
Toledo (1L): WMU, BGSU, @Ohio
Miami (1L): Buffalo, Ohio, @WMU
I put EMU in there for Western, because it's an in-state rivalry and EMU has the ability to play like a good team sometimes and will step up going to Kzoo. BGSU is kind of the same type of team for everyone IMO, who may or may not be pretty tough said day.
My view, in terms of a fictional standing representation after the main regular season:
- Ohio
1 Toledo
1.5 WMU
1.5 Miami
2 Buffalo
2.5 BGSU
2.5 EMU
3 CMU
3 UMass

I think the bigger issue for OHIO from the start was how many players had to be replaced even before the injuries. At our skill positions, we had to replace Parker Navarro, running back Sieh Bangura and WR Chase Hendricks. We had to rebuild our O-line, had to overhaul our D-line and secondary, and replaced virtually the entire special teams unit.
That alone should have been enough of challenge to essentially write the season off as a rebuilding year and give up on any MAC title aspirations. But, yet even with all the injuries thrown in on top of that, this team has found a way to gel somehow. I don't want to overhype them because we still have to see how the rest of the season plays out, but I honestly didn't expect them to navigate all this adversity and come out the other side looking this dominant so quickly. Before the Hornets, we soundly beat CMU.

Rodarte's career ending injury late in camp left zero returning starters on offense. We returned both linebackers and two starters in the secondary. I think four starters from last year was the number. Ten years ago that would have meant a certain rebuilding year. These days keeping players around is really hard for all G6's but I have to believe that four is near the very bottom still.
And yes, Ohio played game three with about half of the projected starters missing. I am not sure what the number will be next week but it should be only around four out now, with the #1 starter looking back in his groove, which I'd say is very much in the normal range this time of the season. But, as a Bobcat fan, with both of those facts, we have certainly had to learn a lot of new names in a short period of time.
