Nobody is “worried” about it. I just find it humorous that wokeness rears its insanity everywhere.

I agree that wokeness often rears its head in odd places. And there is often some absurdity to that. Fair point, 450.

But as long as the woke situation is not damaging to our society in the overall sense (and hurricane naming is not), I'm not going to allow my blood pressure to be elevated by that bit of wokeness (assuming the weather people were trying too hard to be inclusive with the name; maybe they were not).

Bill, I get it and my bp is good. Again, eyerollingly stupid woke garbage is just ridiculous. That’s my only point.

"Harmful wokeness" does seem to be growing, and it's concerning, BTF. We agree on that.

I agree strongly, 450.

In case you actually wanted to know...and nobody posted this already as I didn't read through all the posts...

They are named by the World Meteorological Organization which is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.

They rotate the names every 6 years. There was also a Hurricane Isaias in 2020.

They usually retire the name if it causes death and destruction.

Isaias is the Spanish and Portuguese form of the biblical name Isaiah.

Hurricanes don't just effect English speaking United States land.

And they're named so people have a point of reference...especially for disaster declarations and historical reference, etc. as well as for communication when multiple storms occur simultaneously.

The things you guys try to make an issue over never cease to amaze.

I tend to agree with you on this particular issue. This whole naming thing is/was a nothingburger, imo.

I agree (and take some blame for blowing this out of proportion with my multiple posts).
