One of this president's better decisions.

One of the best decisions he's made. No need to make this murderer a martyr...and he would have been to the muslims. They would have used this all over the world and made him a star. Now, they won't be able to, he'll just be another muslim murderer who got his just due.

The cancellation of the live-stream of the execution is a smart and commendable move by the president. Full props given to Don Trump.

Trump is a f'ing genius.

If they were just going to shoot the guy, the liberals would have still gone nuts.

This way, they went nuts over the broadcasting. Trump gives in.

The protest against shooting him is for the most part defused.

Genius.

Yet no one in this thread, liberals included, argued against the punishment. They argued against how it was to be carried out. Trump is a genius only to the water carriers.

Didn't the president previously say he supported the livestreaming of the execution?

If so (and I might be wrong about this), and now that he is backtracking, critics could argue the president is being indecisive — rarely a good look for a leader.

However, I'm pleased the president changed his mind on the livestreaming. He realized, to his credit, the potential negative ramifications.

My criticism of some of left-leaning posters, Mr. X, is that they seemingly did not make clear in their original posts that they were strongly in favor of the execution.

However, I think you are correct in noting that none has argued against that execution.

Semantics perhaps. But worth noting.

Inflexibility may look good, but it is horrible leadership.

The leadership at Coke brought back the Real Thing after they screwed up with New Coke.

I see a difference between a leader being indecisive and being inflexible.

But both can create potentially bad perception.

Trump waffles a good bit (many politicians do) but his final decisions can be fairly sound (though I don't agree with many of them).

It seems he shot down Hegseth on this decision. Maybe I'm wrong.

Trump gave them an easier target. If he hadn't, they would have been arguing against the firing squad. They did try. I saw a few posts about it. They didn't get the traction that the streaming did. So they did that. Now the wind is out of their sails. I'm telling you, Trump is a f'ing genius sometimes. This was one of them.

Not sure I’m willing to give him “genius” status, but what you say makes sense.

And it is consistent with his transactional approach. As we saw with Greenland, take an absurdly provocative stance, get everyone whipped up into a frenzy, and then settle on terms better than you would have gotten had you asked for them up front.

Not a genius. But sometimes effective.

What did we get out of the new Greenland deal that we could not get out of the 1951 agreement? More so, what did we get out of the new deal that makes saying we will invade an ally make sense?

I'm sorry, X. Didn't you and your fellow leftists on here try to justify the public assassination of Charlie Kirk by using quotes that were deliberately taken out of context by the leftist media? Oh, y'all did? Then sit down and shut up. You have NO moral authority on this issue at all. None whatsoever. (And no, I don't care what you have to say in response.)

80% of the public was repelled by the notion of a public execution. The revulsion was bipartisan. The vice president said he would not watch any livestream.

Trump still thought it was a dandy idea, but climbed down in deference to public opinion. Another “make a mess, then retreat” move. The attempted circus was getting poor ratings.

No, he’s not a genius.

President Donald Trump (80) said Thursday that the Pentagon will no longer livestream the firing squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan, after the announcement faced bipartisan criticism and Vice President JD Vance said he wouldn’t watch it.

And now, it's Gitanole, who tried to claim that Tyler Robinson, the radicalized leftist gay man who confessed to being the killer of Charlie Kirk, was a "groyper". He (or she) hasn't apologized for making such a stupid claim.

Since you are ideologically incapable of accepting any position that is not pre-marinated in leftist sauce, I’ll let the Danes answer your question:

He at least makes moves. Biden couldn't do that. Name me one POTUS who hasn't come up with benevolent ideas. What would have been really detrimental was ignoring his advisers and proceeding with the execution. It indicates that he can be flexible and willing to compromise. Biden couldn't engage his own inner dialogue; he likely couldn't understand what the voices in his head were saying, much less be aware enough about his autopen staff to understand what they were doing behind the scenes or the way his own party felt about him.

First the Left complains that Trump doesn't listen to his constituents and now they will complain because he did. You can never satisfy these demons.

I see nothing but good in his reversal, it wouldn't have been a good look, no pun intended.

Agreed, but it goes both ways. I've seen plenty of people that were excited for the live broadcast praise the cancellation of it.

Dem’ doctrine does not allow diversity of thought and the Dem sheep are in lockstep with policies ordered by the party elite.

I commend Trump for having an open mind and reversing the decision.

Presently in line to vote in my red area populated by sane and the independently minded. I am doing my part to keep the Dem horde at bay and prevent their rapacious and violent rampage.
