Quick count as of a few days ago there were a dozen G6 2-3 teams. Unless I missed one, only 3 of those dozen 2-3 G6 have played two P4 teams:
-GSU
-UD (lost by 2 TDS @ Liberty)
-Miami (OH)

GSU is the only one that didn’t get boatraced in either P4 game, and #22 UH is about to be 5-1, with only a 2 pt loss @ #13 TX Tech. Granted, GSU did get UH @ Paulson.

GSU will be the 2nd best team JMU has faced outside of Liberty. The difference between home/away is about a TD (+3/-3). The difference between Bridgeforth and Paulson is probably much higher. So winning @ Paulson could be tougher than beating Liberty @ Bridgeforth.

Best game I’ve seen in a while. Heart breaking that Ga Southern missed that kick. I was looking forward to OT. Kinda odd rooting for Southern. I feel dirty.

Not quite- thought we won it more than once, then tried to give it away each time. It ended after GS had a first down on our 34 and never got any closer, so they had to try a 52 yard fg to tie.

Reason I say it is that drop by JC on our last series. They could’ve marched down the field like they had been all game. Our secondary has issues that I’m not so sure will get solved this point in the season.

Regardless, relieved to escape with a W in Hellsboro for us JMU folk.

Felt like there were 2 times in the 2nd where JMU could have ended it, and instead got cute. Credit to GSU, they become a different team vs us in the gnat capital.

I shudder to think of us making the CFP with this secondary to be honest. Last year I think our secondary was much better and Oregon torched us like we were little league players multiple times.

One thing I find interesting is that GSouth always seem to pass easily on JMU at Paulson. It felt that way with with Cignetti, with Chesney, and with Napier. Only difference is, this time JMU comes out with a win.

Sometimes you win because you just play a cleaner game. That happens frequently with us, this game was not an outlier or an "off day".

No one can tell me JMU has better players and talent than us. They just have offensive coaches that make logical plays and don't use a dart board. That long pass on third and short with our massive QB was so dumb. Weston Bryan is almost automatic in short yardage situations like that.

Napier still undefeated as a SBC coach at Paulson. Perhaps he's helped break JMU's jinx.
