US debt close to $500,000 per family of 4
https://www.us-debt-clock.com/current-us-debt

Instead of slowing down the borrowing, we are increasing the rate by a lot.

We are just passing the buck and the government isn’t willing to discuss it much. We’ve all been lulled to sleep by hearing the big numbers so often, they don’t even mean anything to people any more.

Of all the political candidates running for office, I sure don’t see many addressing the debt.

Is the USA really just Amway?

Your share of the debt is exactly the same as every other persons.

And that’s around $120,000.

This isn't about household debt (although I'm sure those statistics are bad), but the national debt. We may finally be teaching the breaking point given how the bond market has been behaving lately.

What I would want to see is an actual budget that reduces the deficit by $250 Billion a year until we run a $500 Billion a year surplus. A lot of what both parties hold dear needs to be toast - I would start with nearly 10% cuts to defense, income security, healthcare (excluding Medicare, as most of it is funded from payroll taxes), and transportation. Starting with the second year I would seek another $250 Billion in new revenue, and repeat until the $500 Billion surplus is achieved.

Good luck trying to get Americans to pay for it.

I presume an IOU note will suffice

Good luck Boris

You must really hate yourself and your life.

Crowing about Rogue Thugs driving their country into third world status and hating on Americans because of a Government spending addiction is insane.

Not sure what rock you climbed out from under but I’d say it’s safe to return. You’ve done your job spreading propaganda to the masses.

The Brookings Institute took a look at how corrupt America is and what a big threat it has become to the country.

https://www.brookings.edu/articles/us-de...eats-grow/

And that’s besides the nearly $40 trillion we have borrowed and mostly just given away to connected people thru pet projects, pork barrel spending, and other scams that we all know about, but are helpless to stop.

Greece only got bailed out to the tune of a few hundred billion, and they will paying for at least another 4 or 5 decades from now.

The globalists gangs are going to have to go body snatching people off the streets to harvest organs to get their money from America.

We’re all going to only have 1 kidney and have mandatory plasma donation every other day lol. Unless they just keep people strapped down all the time and drain us constantly. But they are going to get their money, and it’s going to have to come from somewhere.

It’s going to be straight up post apocalyptic here.

We’ve really dug ourselves into a whole there is simply no way out of. Our descendants bodies are going to be commodities.

Think it can’t/doesn’t/won’t happen?

Laugh all you want, but the people we are condemning to hell won’t be laughing.

North Korean recipes for tree bark and weeds are going to be hot commodities.

RE: US debt close to $500,000 per family of 4
The vast majority of US debt is held by the Federal Reserve (4.5 trillion), the Social Security Trust Fund (2.5 trillion), state and local pension funds (1.6 trillion), US federal employee pension plans (1.1 trillion), private pension plans (1.1 trillion), or in private mutual funds (5.2 trillion, of which the largest chunk is 401k accounts).

Total that together, and it's 16 trillion (40%) that is basically owed to ourselves.

Another 29% of the debt is owed to US-based banks, hedge funds, and individual owners.

The rest (32% of the total) is owed to entities in other countries. Most of those are retirement funds and central banks in NATO countries or Asian allies.

China used to be the largest foreign holder, peaking at $1.4 trillion in the mid-2010s. But they've been selling it off to deal with a series of their own domestic problems. Today they only own $600 billion, or 1.7% of the total.

Yep, as soon as almost any type of account in existence has any amount in it, it’s immediately drained to go spend on something or other.

All so we don’t have to own up to the fact that our rigged economy can’t sustain itself without a constant flow of new money coming in.

That is the definition of a pyramid scheme.

Says the one who cheers a Russian economy where it is already acknowledged people will starve this winter.

You have to be one of the biggest propaganda clowns ever.

Bwahahahaha

No one can take you seriously because you are like progressive leftist who cannot discern the truth even when it’s obvious.

Must be nice to bite the hand that feeds you.

I have already offered to pay for your one way ticket back to motherland in exchange for your passport. Offer still stands.

Rigged in what way?

I mean OF COURSE we rely on new money coming in. That's called work. We are constantly producing new crops, new cars, new planes, new organic chemicals, etc etc for export.

Anyone who actually looks at the data knows that average Americans are far wealthier than average folks in every other country except possibly Norway (which is an oil republic every bit as much as Saudi Arabia, but with a highly educated populace that does their own engineering).
