RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 5
So Chicago State is in their first year of playing football and New Haven is in Year 2 of their D2/FCS transition, the two conference leaders should have relatively easy weeks.

West Florida at ACU might be very interesting. How good is West Florida? How bad is ACU?

What is the contract status of the two coaches in the UNA and EKU game?

Week 5 Predictions:
- Austin Peay scores 70+
- Tarleton will find a way to keep it close with Chi State.
- EKU squeaks past UNA at home.
- ACU takes down West Florida. Book it.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 5
AP gets a good win, as well as Tarleton. I think UNA takes it, even away, but it should be good. I hope that Mercer was just an over correction, but the mistakes I am seeing, I think, go deeper. UWF will win and ACU will lose both another home game and first conference game.

Wells at EKU got a two year extension, but the buyout got reduced to $50K.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 5
West Florida has kinda lived a charmed season. ACU will squeak by, and then play the game of their lives later against Tarleton. Tarleton will follow the lead of their coach and beat the worst team in FCS by 24 or less. Nobody cares about UNA or EKU. One of them will win by 3. AP will win by a lot more than Tarleton will. Forgot about UCA. Everyone has. They get a win by not playing this week.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 5
I’m about an hour behind in watching the game as the first quarter just ended for me. Worst quarter we have played this year. We couldn’t score from the four yard line with four plays. We then allowed a 95 yard TD drive.

Our defense is pathetic. We can’t rush the QB and can’t cover receivers. Our defensive backs can’t make a play on the ball. Our only chances at stopping a pass are when the QB misses the receiver or the receiver drops the pass.

I am so glad I choose to not attend this game.

UNA gets 4 INTs and wins 20-16 at EKU. The Lions are 4-2 headed into a Bye week.

Uninspired to start the game is the understatement of the year.

Whitten or the AD needs to pass on the Chicago States and Merrimacks of FCS.

There is nothing to gain even after 56-21 shellacking Chicago State.

Play down to the level of competition and Lord knows Whitten wants to tap the brakes at even a sign of a blowout.

And, to your point the DEFENSE is below average.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 5
I am shocked at our game, maybe we have turned a corner. Mercer shellacked VMI, so I feel a little better about last week. Still, I have been watching the mistakes we have been making and knowing how different we have been playing than in years past. Tonight, our defense played hard and it showed. Our OL still needs to play 4 qtrs and not let off the gas. Our offense went dead in the 2nd half, but at least the D, played 4 qtrs. I have been watching UNA play more consistently.

Good win tonight!!

Lions have got to work on offense in this bye week before hosting ACU. That’s for sure. But, the defense has been the highlight of the season so far after being the downfall last year.

Defense *can* rush the QB, they're just not. I'd let #33 bounce around and tee off from every angle. Forces QB to get rid of the ball which leads to INTs. There is zero creativity on the defensive side of the ball. Time for Whitten to go to the bullpen and let somebody else call the plays on defense. We've had 5 games to evaluate Nix and his stock is plummeting. Promise you AP will beat us up and take our lunch money if we don't do something drastic.

ACU is a Top 25 team and improving every week. Playing the toughest ooc schedule in the UAC is gonna pay off in conference play 04-cheers

If we have truly turned a corner and found our identity, I agree. The talent is there.
