RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK ZERO
We have a lot to do on defense. I am optimistic with Travers at QB. OL has ti do better moving lines to run the ball.

Prairieview A&M is better than I ever remember them

Kudos to their HC Jackson.

Honestly, this doesn’t surprise me because of him. He elevated quickly in D2 before PA&M hired him away from Valdosta State.

Congratulations on the win.

Looks like TSU made adjustments on defense at halftime so far dominating in second half up 35-20

Tarleton QB is better than advertised. I’ve been very impressed

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK ZERO
Kudos to PVAMU. Very good offense. Great coach and a quickly rising program. And they have an incredible band.

Offense was fairly bland tonight but effective. Didn’t do much pre snap motion but did do some pre snap shifts. Also had several new formations and ran some sweeps with our RBs. O line do a good job keeping QBs sack free for the game. Tylin Hinds is a stud! QB1 can play.

Defense was horrible. Couldn’t tackle all night. And still a running QB kills us. Our LBs seemed non existent. They didn’t fill run gaps and made and missed tackles five to six yards past the line of scrimmage. Need significant improvement on the defense to have the type of season we are expecting. Enjoyed the two bands together at the half when they played Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5.

Crowd was awesome. Fullest I have ever seen the stadium with an announced attendance of over 24,000. We have created a fantastic game experience. We need to figure out how to translate the football environment over to basketball. Need to work on additional concessions as we are losing income when it takes forever to get thru the lines.

Was very interesting to see how PV came out last night considering some of the recent victim made comments from their coach but damn if they didnt look like a pretty solid team. Hats off to them. These HBCU games usually get pretty ugly but they looked like they belonged. GG Tar.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK ZERO
Tarleton D needs some serious work on tackling and maintaining their position. Too many times there was poor tackling and guys completely out of position on D. Front Seven needs some major improvement. I liked the 300 lb guy on the D line and Henderson St transfer played well

I’m not sure if PV Defense is that bad or TSU QB is that good. He was tossing tight spirals that were hitting dimes and if he would have been left in the game Tarleton probably drops 70 on PV. Bowling Green may be a better indicator of how good he is.

PV had a 4th and 5 with 7-8 minutes left in the game down 19 elected to punt. I thought it odd but in their defense if they don’t make it gives Tarleton the ball with a short field and Whitten could reinsert QB back into the game who was pulled earlier to give back ups reps. Still puzzled me because to me it looked like PV resigned at that point.

Overall I suspect PV will dominate their conference. The PV QB is a load and runs with authority. My only problem with this is what I call the Michael Vick effect. Vick passing proficiency dropped dramatically once he’d rushed for 100 yards. Passes become erratic and inaccurate. I saw that with PV QB as well. Exhaustion and rubber legs can’t make throws.

Excited Football is back it’s been a long summer.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK ZERO
Just basic blocking and tackling last night, mano y mano, fundamental
Xs and Os. Nothing flashy on Defense either. No stunts or blitzes. Didn't show much therefore not much on film for Bowling Green to study this week, which leads me to believe we're saving all the razzle dazzle for FBS week.

Also, Whitten the Merciful showed up again and we put in our 2nd and 3rd stringers midway thru the 3rd QTR. Otherwise the score would would have been extremely more lopsided. It was starting to get out hand in a hurry.

Overall we did what needed doing and came away relatively injury-free. Having two capable QBs and a dynamic slot receiver will pay dividends for sure as season progresses.
