Many leftists celebrated and/or excused the murders of Charlie Kirk and the insurance executive, elevating cold blooded murderer Luigi Mangione to hero status. There was even a plot to kill Erika, his wife, presumably because she carries on his work. And many leftists have indicated a personal opinion that a Trump death by any means would be good. I guess they think a Vance presidency would be a good thing for them, but I doubt it.

Bottom line, a taste for violence and murder as a means of bringing about political change seems to be primarily a leftist thing, and the lefter they are, the better they like it.

Yet according to the leftist press, it is the right, the pro-guns people, the people who fly American flags, who are blood thirsty and violent. Propaganda?

They even excuse October 7. "From the river to the sea..."

Some anti-Ice protesters are still wearing their keffiyehs, provided by their sponsons years ago.

No need to ask for polls, people, just open your eyes.

Thanks, Lad. when I said "...that I can recall", I knew some zealous defender of the left would step out to show me that I was wrong. And I was right.

1994? 32 years ago? Gotta reach that far back, when we have had multiple efforts to kill Trump just in the last 2 years? Shall we go back to 1865, when a Republican was assassinated by a southern Democrat?

The Obama list includes mostly verbal threats - not actual phyical attacks. "Three men allegedly discussed shooting Barack Obama,..." , "In October 2008 it was widely reported that someone yelled "Kill him!" at a Scranton, Pennsylvania, Sarah Palin rally when Obama's name was mentioned. The Secret Service denied this claim, but a Scranton Times-Tribune editor said, "We stand by the story. The facts reported are true and that's really all there is."[29] Also, MSNBC clips of McCain rallies, while unclear, appear to show two similar incidents.[30]" . The Secret Service denied this claim? And so forth.

But it was not my intention, nor my point, to deny that there has ever been any attempts or threats against Democrats. It was my point to say that as of NOW, the left, which includes Democrats but is not limited to them, is much more accepting of violence as a means of political expression. You include people allegedly discussing murder at a diner. I bet f we included all those kinds of incidents, we would have hundreds or thousands threats against Trump. We have people on YouTube saying it's too bad Crooks missed. We have people saying the quality of American assassins has declined. Shall we include them?

But the larger point is no just attempts on Presidents - it is the acceptance of violence against people of differing viewpoints. Charlie Kirk. The insurance executive. The murders of Jews in DC. Rising antisemitism in the Democratic party, and associated violence. Murderers fan clubs, and demonstrations on their behalf. The riots and attacks on law enforcement - one ongoing as we talk. Nobody forced those people to come out and attack an ICE facility. Well, nobody on the right.

Not to mention the riotous demonstrations in favor of the murderers of October 7. The pro-Hamas wing of the Democrats. What right-wingers were chanting "from the river to the sea.."? Just another facet of the left-wing antisemitism.

So, since 2024, what is the count? Multiple attempts on Trump. Murders of Kirk and the insurance executive. Murders of Jews. Multiple riots and violent confrontations and threats on the lives of law enforcement officers.

I blame the irresponsible rhetoric from the left. "He is a Nazi." "He is a threat to democracy." "He wants to be king." BS, but effective on the weak-minded.

I appreciate your input.

We found that nearly one-third of Americans surveyed—and around half of those identifying as left-of-center—believe that the murder of certain public figures is at least somewhat justified. The figures are startling: 38 percent of respondents, and 55 percent of those left of center, said assassinating President Trump would be at least somewhat justified; 31 percent of respondents, and 48 percent of those left of center, said the same about Musk.

Our report also discovered an online “assassination culture,” found in predominantly left-leaning digital spaces, such as Bluesky and Reddit. This subculture justifies and glorifies political violence. Some of these networks’ users wield the name “Luigi” or use the Luigi video game character as coded endorsements of Brian Thompson’s alleged assassin, Luigi Mangione. These users cloak explicit calls for violence in stylized memes. Many believe that political murder and sabotage are acceptable forms of protest.

According to survey data highlighted in the report, more than 30% of respondents said it would be "at least somewhat justified to murder" prominent billionaires. The number rose to 50% for people who self-identified as "left of center."

If lefties are half the populance and lefties are 50% Ok with murdering prominent billionaires, that account for 25 of the 30% of all respondents.

The acceptance or justification of violence against public figures, including their murder, is higher the further to the left of the political spectrum the voter or activist is. This reality has come to light again in the wake of reactions to the murder of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.

That's the result of a YouGov poll indicating that 24% of people who identified themselves as far-left sympathizers consider the death of a public figure they oppose as "always or usually acceptable." While a majority (56%) of this group see the issue as "unacceptable," another 20% are "not sure" how they feel about it.

Your linked study explicitly looked at people "left of center," which includes far-left radicals, anarchists, and anti-capitalist extremists who actively reject mainstream Democratic politics. 24% of this EXTREME subset thought that murder in the support of a political cause was acceptable.

Also... there is a massive, undeniable gulf between an pissed-off internet user venting on Reddit/X and mainstream Democratic voters actually condoning real-world violence. Mainstream Democratic leadership and voters have consistently and universally condemned political violence and assassination attempts across the board.

Look... the Democrats aren't doing anything that makes me want to support them right now but your GoodOwl-level accusations that even FoxNews would probably be too bashful to trot out there don't help with discourse here. Not to mention your implying that people who are protesting Israel's actions in the middle East support the Oct 7 murderers. Just my opinion.

(I wonder who paid for the equipment or arranged to have it handy. Just coincidence?)

Some of the footage I've seen shows fires burning. I thought arson was a felony - not protected protest.

I remember when right-wingers were stoking violence against Democrats by suggesting that they were involved with a child torture/sex ring that was headquartered in the basement of a pizza joint in DC. Wild times.

Democrats are a part of "leftists", but they are not the sum total of them. I said so in a previous post. Guess you missed it. There are some good, moderate Democrats - who don't have the support of the party. a very few. Fetterman, shapiro, a couple of others.

FTR, I try to watch a balance of sources, including Fox, CNN, MS Now, and others. I place a lot of emphasis on video. Seen the video from New Jersey yet? I have. Seen the video of the Mangione fan club. I have. reminds me of the Manson girls.

And GO and I disagree on a lot of things, but he does not try to demean or dismiss me. Not once in 15 years or more. Try it sometime.

I have probably said something to the extent of "Fox News is biased and CNN/MSNBC is no better so the American public is screwed when it comes to the news" at least five times over the past couple years. Sorry if you missed it.

The irony here is wild. You spend half your time demeaning and dismissing anyone who doesn't echo your exact worldview, and yet you somehow constantly play the victim here because people match your energy? Baffling lack of self-awareness, TBH.

First, 93, I have not read your last post and do not intend to. That would be way too much like this "discourse' you speak of, a back-and-forth which usually leads nowhere but name-calling and insults. I bet the post I haven't read is exactly that. I do not wish for that and don't care to spend my time trying to make left-wingers see the light. I do enjoy posting my thoughts on various topics, but don't care if they have any effect on yall or if you even read them. My advice to everybody who dosen't like my posts is to put me on Ignore...please.

But I got to thinking about explaining my usage of left-wing, which most of the left-wingers proudly use to describe themselves.

It includes nearly all Democrats, but also the Democratic Socialists, the Socialists, the Communists, Antifa, antiTrumpers, pro-Iranians/Cubans/Russians/Chinese, and anti-Americans. Naturally, not everybody left of center is alike. So Mamdani and AOC and Sanders are left-wingers, though maybe not Democrats. Democrats are a subset only.

JMHO. No response needed or expected.

Cool.

No name calling. If pointing out the irony of you complaining about being dismissive and demeaning is "an insult" then there was an insult in that post. Most reasonable people wouldn't read my post as containing insults, though.

Quote:I do not wish for that and don't care to spend my time trying to make left-wingers see the light. I do enjoy posting my thoughts on various topics, but don't care if they have any effect on yall or if you even read them.

It seems that you were looking for a response from "a leftist" regarding your post to which Lad replied?

Quote: My advice to everybody who dosen't like my posts is to put me on Ignore...please.

I'll continue to respond to various posts. You don't have to read the responses though.

Going to argue against the idea that among all Democrats, 25% of them would think a political murder is OK. Not that you have explicitly said that... just pushing against the idea that could have been inferred from your posts on this.

WARNING: READING FURTHER OR WATCHING THE VIDEO MAY CAUSE DISTRESS IN LEFT-WINGERS.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/agitators-out...38f2da6276

The violence at this and other demonstration is planned and prepared for by the sponsors.

Nobody happened to stop by Wal-Mart for a few supplies on their way to a mostly peaceful protest. The goods were pre-ordered and delivered according to instructions.

"Fox News Digital observed stockpiles of masks, duct tape, medical supplies, sunscreen, hard hats, goggles and other protective gear in containers and laid out on tables near the protest site."

IMO, if a law enforcement agent is injured, or a protester shot, the sponsors will be high-fiving.

I fully expect this sort of preplanned violence at the No Kings rally June 14.

JMHO - and a video.

Who are the sponsors? I have an opinion, but nobody here wants to hear it.

When LE shoots into crowds, disperses pepper gas, etc (let alone shooting protesters in the back while face down on the pavement) -- it pays to be prepared.

Or when you have some fktard MAGA folks heaving **** into Kings Day speeches (as I personally witnessed in Gillespie county.) That doesnt seem to enter into your most interesting ciphering (to ghost the voice of Jethro Bodine circa 1965)

Masks -- yep.
Duct tape -- yep.
medical supplies -- yep.
sunscreen -- yep.
head protection -- yep.
goggles -- yep.
other protective gear -- yep.

Nothing in the above says anything but they are prepared for violence being directed *at* them, which you seemingly magically broaden to *they* are preparing to do violence. Cool cool.

Notwithstanding, you have defended (or obediently ignored) thousands of J6 rioters in the same manner. Again -- cool cool.

Okay, have to admit, you mentioned the smoking gun -- the sunscreen is horribly damning. Lolz.

The sheer drive and will to tarnish *anybody* and *anything* that might disagree with your views is truly astounding. Triple cool cool.

I will go out on a limb and predict violence on June 14, at the No Kings rallies. I am sure that supplies have been ordered and agitators hired.

Anything sillier than a protest against something that isn't happening? Maybe we need a "No Vikings" protest. Maybe a "No taxes to the English King" protest? How about a "Save the Mammoths" rally? Something for "Neanderthal Rights"?

Question is, who are the organizers?

Second question is, why?

Hate to tell you, there are many who are alarmed at the massive expansion of Executive powers by this president. And the very explicit actions to contract and limit sections of of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

As a starter, the huge number of Executive Orders that, in order:
1) purport to create emergency powers to simply deport without any due process;

2) purport to create powers to simply deem native born individuals as non-citizens;

3) the standard that Federal LE are not subject and should be shielded from state criminal investigation, let alone prosecution, for shootings of citizens;

4) purport to bar specified lawyers from all federal buildings (that is, until they pay a 'fine' to Trump...)

5) purport to exercise emergency powers to exercise complete financial control over importation on the pure say so of the President;

Hate to tell you, your pithy and shallow referral to Neanderthals, Vikings, and Mammoths highlights either an amazing lack of awareness as to current issues, whether you back the line items above or not, or simply is a shallow attempt to shut your ears in whole to them. Not a good look.

Most folks can discuss the numbered items above, even when they back those plays for Executive power. I dont think I have ever seen a shallower attempt to cover them up. You be you, good sir.

Quote:Question is, who are the organizers?

Yes, how dare some deign to question that exercise of executive power. The horror.

Quote:Second question is, why?

Id suggest reading the line item numbered issues above. That *should* serve as a good starting point. Even if one agrees with their exercise. It is stunning that you seem not to even understand the basis.

Ill go out on a limb and say relatively no violence will happen at the rallies -- just like the previous 4 iterations. Each iteration that seemingly gets more deeply irritating to you, and results in more snippiness for some reason. Lolz.

I think it will be interesting when no material level of violence occurs, and how eagerly you will simply ignore your false prediction when it is raised. Much of how you simply walk away and ignore any trouble attaching to Trump without ever addressing the issues. Except for your shallow remarks on Neanderthals, Vikings, and Mammoths....

I think the cabal of sunscreen producers are the evil shadowy organizers.

It helps being a shadowy organizer when your gig is sunscreen, to boot.

(05-31-2026 07:57 AM)OptimisticOwl Wrote:  Since Kennedy, there has not been an assassination attempt on a Democrat President that I can recall, and none on his family. In the last two years we have had at least 4 on Trump, maybe more depending on definitions. With one exception, riots in the last decade are left-wing based and sponsored, as will be the one scheduled for June 14. (Flag Day). The current unrest in NJ is clearly left-wing originated.

No need to ask for polls, people, just open your eyes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_White_House_shooting

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Security_i...rack_Obama

Yeah, I had to go back to 1994 because I googled whether there was an assassination attempt on a former Democratic president since you said "Since Kennedy, there has not been an assassination attempt on a Democrat President that I can recall"

Also, you ignored the examples for Obama.

I didn't even Google Biden.

I forgot why i stopped contributing - just total drivel.
