I think it's more of a doomsayer's thing. (I'm not saying it as an insult either.) I'm still optimistic we can retain the White House and take back the House in 2028. We should also be able to make a dent in the Senate, too.

You're wasting your time thinking such things.

The country you grew up in is gone and is never coming back.

It's been taken over by evil.

Literally 80% of the board already thinks that is where the country is headed and has for years. Your not sharing a unique view, you playing the ultimate captain obvious.

And of all people on the entire board you think the most Biblically obsessed person of all that takes Bible prophecy LITERALLY does not think an antichrist who imprisons and kills all who resists is not coming?

I've never in my life seen a more extreme case of "DUDE, READ THE ROOM".

Its like you are completely unaware this is a hard right board, and completely unaware I am a born again, bible thumping Biblical fundamentalist.

Trump's Iran debacle completely screwed the Republican party and all of his supporters. Now Dems are back in control and will stop Trump from accomplishing anything he had intended to do. His legacy will be overshadowed with how bad he mishandled Iran.

All I am saying is Andy, have a 2nd thought to share.

Trump should resign now if he had any dignity at all.

Vance isn't going to win in 2028 anyway.

The Muslim from Michigan will be the next POTUS.

You're right. We are indeed in the End Times. But until Christ comes back to rapture us away, I'm going to do whatever God's will is for me. That what Christians should do anyway.

That's what I'm trying to get across to Andy.

Most of us here already believe these things, we don't need him to introduce us to the idea. lol.

This is where most of us have been for a long, long time now.

He can move on to a 2nd thought to share.

I hear a lot about raptures and the end of times because of this. Look at the big picture. So much is going to happen with AI and bots in the next 5-10 years, it's not going to matter much which party is control of government. They won't be able to do much to alter the "rapture" that is about to arrive.

Indefinitely. Once the number drop below six, they don't have a quorum and can't do anything.

I think that the Senate will refuse to fill any open SC seat as retribution for what McConnell did a few years ago, with an expectation that that they’ll have a different party in the WH in 2028.

Dem Senate can do it in a way that would far less damaging political wise.

Garland was outright canned, not even having a vote. Let Trump nominate.. if not palatable, they can simply vote them down. If what appears to be a moderate nominee, maybe they vote they vote that nominee in.

That is if Trump puts forth any such nominee.

Only time will tell.

I’m a long time liberal and though liberal and though a native to California, I’ve lived in Texas 33 years.

I could have never imagined a night like last night. Texas was ruby red for a long time and hadn’t had a Democratic governor and Dem senator in over 30 years. It’s a dream come true and the hope is that we can stop Trump from having a free pass to do whatever he wants.

I’m glad much of the MID-CYCLE gerrymandering backfired in part thanks to “blacklash” that pumped up the black community to get out and vote.

The next couple of years look rocky with congress likely fighting Trump’s every wish, and vice versa, but if we can gain the presidency and keep both chambers, the future’s bright.

No doubt about it. If your perspective is marxism and communism the future looks bright in America. Granted probably half of you are just too ignorant to know that is what you are actually supporting, but in the end you will reap what you sow. The chaos and violence in multiple European countries speaks for itself, and they were sold the same bill of goods under the same marxists banners of diversity, equity and "social justice" and the pigeons are coming home to roost.

So congratulations are in order. 04-cheers

The Marxists have found a lot of useful idiots on the progressive left and in the black community. There is movement in the black male vote to waking up from that democrat plantation mindset, but the numbers are still far too small to matter yet.

I like Trump but the states would not have let him and us down if he had been quietly and privately interested instead of hands on.

Most sensible post of the thread. Trump is 90% right on policy. But he is 100% erratic in his behavior. The result is a relapse back to the progressivism that is corroding our nation.

I think we will survive this. But only if/when conservatives lose their equally unhealthy fascination with a man-child with serious self-control issues. Instead of showing real leadership during this second chance we received in 2024, conservatives for the most part timidly tried to laugh off very juvenile behavior - - “Ha ha, isn’t he just the funniest president ever?”

History will record this as a blown opportunity. Hopefully not worse.

I'll refer back to this midway through your next term when the poo hits the fan and the entire country is lost because you people elected communists.

Let's also not pretend that Trump hasn't suffered the same challenges we roasted Biden over - old age. I know this is a sensitive issue with many here and I get it - a lot of you guys are sharp minded. But ask yourself - how sharp would your mind really be if you had to commit to the grind demanded of the presidency?

You can have the greatest ideas in the world. However, if you cannot build a solid consensus of support to pull it off then what good are you? Ironically, the so called great deal maker wasn't capable of closing the most important deals out there - a bipartisan consensus.

You know what would truly make this country great and a force to be reckoned with? Showing the current members of the house and the senate how by working together you all will personally become very rich. That's the morally repugnant "secret" that would have truly made MAGA a force to be reckoned with. He didn't allow enough politicians to "get a taste" or let them "get their beaks wet".....

The war wasn't popular, but nobody changed their vote because of it. It's the economy stupid! Everybody saw high food and gas prices every day. That did change some votes and dampen Republican turnout.

Your head is in the sand on this one.
  • Technically correct in that it wasn't the war itself that was unpopular - people weren't upset that he's attacking Iranians. It's the effects that are deeply unpopular. The effects became Kitchen Table Economics issues. Most of you who are conservative are also older and mostly insulated from these price increases.
  • Trump handled the war like a buffoon. If he's going to bring the lumber, he has to go all the way. He didn't and allowed it to become a drawn out mess. Dems had more wisdom about Trump than we cared to admit - TACO was evident when the truly hard decisions had to be made. All of those big bombing runs were little different than Clinton bombing the Aspirin factory that got Bill the deserved ridicule. What's the saying - "Half measures get you killed"?

It's the economy....yet, democrats are already saying Lawyer up....so it was never about helping Americans, only about Trump and getting rid of him. Sad.

We will. Trust me. People will get tired of the show impeachment trials put on by the Democrats.

I'm firmly against any efforts by democrats to impeach Trump or his cabinet... huge waste of time....

Mostly agree. Leave trump alone for now. But Hegseth should probably go.
