2026 Midterm Elections Open Thread
As primary season is upon us, might as well start this year's Midterms Thread. Let the gnashing of teeth and posturing begin.

And here, among all the many illegal and disordered machinations by the Left to manipulate elections for their favor, I'll make the following sad observations:

The basic Democrat Party platform of today appears to be viciously against anything that could legally help them win. All the Democrats have to do is end their mindless, evil support for aborting the millions of their future voters they have murdered over the past 60 or so years and they'd be shoo-ins to win, legally most every time. Simple. And they'll never agree to let go of their primary sick grail of their own destruction. Stupid and evil is as stupid and evil does. No matter how much they scream like the spoiled brats they are.

However, coupled with the Democrat Dogma of abhorring marriage, celebrating single parent families, particularly, but not exclusively, those headed solely by women (whatever that is, right?), promoting disordered (and by definition inherently selfish) relationships that make raising stable, growing families more difficult, and with far less successful outcomes than stable, traditional marriages, and the blind promotion of government and other third parties doing the lion's share of child-rearing instead of having a stay-at-home parent or at least equally shared parenting where a stable family can be supported by a one-income provider (gotta keep raising that daygum minimum wage to unsustainable levels, after all), No wonder that Democrat Party feels like it has to support any number of illegal avenues for voter base expansion like importing hoards of incompatible ideologies and folks who have no interest in the American Dream that built this country for 200 years from a backwoods colonial society into a World powerhouse that set the example until it lost the narrative over the past 50 years. Democrats have devolved into spoiled, entitled children screaming at the cashier counter for other people to pay for what they want in any given moment and acting out in grotesque, collective tantrum until they get their way.

Most of America used to by and large ostracize the weirdo behaviors and disordered crap that today's Democrat Party vehemently insists is 'normal' and just as good as what most rational people have in this country considered normal for a good part of its history. Instead of agreeing to disagree, Democrats seek to forcibly foist their destructive, spoiled and idiotic ideology down regular folks' throats whether they want it or not until they scream enough to get their way, negative consequences to their own voter base and stable society in general be damned. Most people are tired of the disordered, spoiled brat tantrums from the weirdos. Geeks and freaks can go back to the shadows and live their miserable lives however they wish, but leave the rest of us who want good lives and love our great country, flaws and all, the heck alone.

Georgia, in particular, will be of primary interest as once again the stupid part of the Republican Party seeks to willingly punt away their advantages in many races to open the door for the Evil and unhinged Democrat Party to once again gain footholds where logically there should be no opening. Sad, but true.

Wait until the Louisiana v Callais decision

Louisiana v. Callais could significantly cost Democrats seats in Congress if the Supreme Court weakens Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. A ruling against the current map could allow Republican-led states to eliminate multiple majority-minority districts across the South, potentially reversing recent Democratic gains in Louisiana, Alabama, and other states.

Potential Gains for GOP: Estimates suggest that if Section 2 is weakened, Republicans could gain roughly 9 or more additional U.S. House seats, solidifying their control of the House.

Regional Impact: The ruling could threaten Democratic-held seats in Louisiana, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Specific Impacts: The case could result in Alabama losing two black-opportunity districts, while Louisiana might revert from a 5-1 to a 6-0 map or see a second majority-Black district erased.

Timing: If a decision arrives early enough in 2026, states could redraw maps for the midterm elections, directly impacting the congressional balance

Rumor is the dissent is slow walking its opinion trying to keep the results of this case from affecting the MidTerms.

I don't expect Republicans to do well, but don't panic, it's just how it works in Midterms. That being said, polling will & is underestimating Republicans like they always do.

RE: 2026 Midterm Elections Open Thread
The Florida Legislature approved a new congressional map intended to maximize Republicans’ advantage in the state as part of the national redistricting battle that President Donald Trump launched ahead of this year’s midterms.

The vote came just two days after Gov. Ron DeSantis unveiled his proposal and the same day that the U.S. Supreme Court rolled back a key provision of the Voting Rights Act. The decision could make it harder for Democrats to challenge Republican efforts to redraw congressional districts in ways that limit the influence of nonwhite voters.

DeSantis’ map could increase Republicans’ advantage in Florida’s House delegation to 24 to 4, up from the current split of 20 to 8. The potential four-seat gain is the same as what Virginia Democrats expect from a recent redistricting referendum, which is being challenged in state court there.

With today's 6-3 SCOTUS ruling on the unconstitutionality of using race to gerrymander districts, it's gonna be interesting to see how redraws and districts are affected. A lot of variables affecting this years' Midterms, and no one on either side really knows how things will shake out at this point.

The formula i was given was really simple:

1) If the conflict with Iran is negotiated before the end of May and President Trump can turn his attention back to the economy and fraud-targets, that's enough time for the economy to recover and Republicans hold / gain.

2) IF the conflict is still going by the end of May, Dems take back the House (although the LA SC case may change this now and depending on what happens in the VA case)

3) There is likely to be no or very little shift in the Senate numbers, unless #2 is extended for another two months. (july)

There was a fraud problem.

There was both. The projected deficit for FY26 is 1.86 trillion. That is much more than a fraud problem.

Yesterday’s SCOTUS announcement on fixing Democrats abuse of race based districts will affect the midterms more than the price of gas or the state of the economy.

Democrats have gerrymandered house districts in Blue states to the point that there are no competitive elections.

Democrats were counting on picking up seats in Red states because of the poorly drawn districts.

Now Republicans can simply redistrict Democrats out of seats they already have.

Add in Texas winning its redistrict case, Florida adding 4 Republican seats, and the Virginia Supreme Court possibly throwing out the recent election results, Democrats will remain in the minority in the House.

Remember Democrats didn’t have a problem with gerrymandering until Republicans started fighting back.

Sooner or later Democrats are going to have to tell us what they will do to make things better. They never do that. Impeaching Trump 14 times doesn't help anybody. The economy will be fixed as soon as ships start moving through the Strait of Hormuz. It's that simple. There is no economic problems here in America.
