For what it's worth, this isn't just Rice playing bad basketball. UNT is running really good sets on offense. Playing to their strengths by trying to beat us with physicality.

But then again, getting a steal and then passing it to the other team makes winning difficult.

37-47 after back-to-back turnovers-- both simply throwing the ball away. This team doesn't have it's head in the game tonight. UNT is playing well, but we're playing like crap. No one wants to take charge. Ennis has been almost invisible since the first few minutes of the game. Adams playing hard, as usual, but some careless passes and missing her open looks.

And yet another TO. Adams putting up bricks and throwing errant passes. However, she is the only one getting any rebounds. The refs are not calling anything on UNT. They've been over the back several times and no calls.

Two good offensive sets lead to Ennis and Alexis 3s. Then a bad defensive possession, a bad midrange jumper from Adams, another UNT bucket and the lead is back to 8. UNT's generally done a good job capitalizing when Rice has shot itself in the foot.

And then not a single Rice defender stops the ball in transition. This feels like one of those rare games where you trip on your face in every respect. Unfortunate that it's happening on national TV.

Great end to the quarter. Only down 3 heading to the 4th.

And then Rice picks UNT's pocket twice on inbounds passes, Alexis hits a 3 at the end of the 3Q, and it's somehow a three-point game heading into the 4th. Can only laugh, but we know this is a good team and even when you're struggling that'll flash occasionally.

50-53 after 3Q as Rice ends quarter on 8-0 run thanks to a couple 3s from Alexis and one from Ennis.

That's a frustrating first offensive possession after the end to the 3rd quarter.

How was that a foul on Ennis?

Flores needs to stop shooting.

I know a lot of the players on this team like midrange jumpers (and they generally work for us), but boy when you're losing does missing midrange jumpers feel way worse than just clanking 25 3s.

Awful offensive foul called on Alexis. These refs are anything but consistent.

And then they call a 4th foul on Ennis where she never touched the player. We're the only home team that never gets the favorable officiating.

One team is making winning plays and the other is making the losing play whenever given the opportunity. UNT up 66-61 with 3:34 left.

And we're tied after two really, really good passes by Adams. Frustrating most of the night but then...

Can't argue with the "get the ball to Battiston when we need to hit a clutch shot" offense*
