The voters of Leander, Texas have elected Na’Cole Thompson their city’s next mayor.

Leander, a satellite city of Austin, went for Trump by 4% in 2024.

Mrs Thompson, a Baylor grad and member of the Leander City Council, won with 57% of the vote and won’t need a runoff. The combined vote for her two Republican-affiliated opponents totaled 43%. Mrs Thompson is a registered member of the Democratic party.

This special election was scheduled after Mayor Christine DeLisle resigned. Though ostensibly nonpartisan, the campaign featured candidates with known partisan affiliations.

Mayor-elect Thompson is a business owner and board member of the Leander Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF).

According to LEEF: Na’Cole Thompson’s professional career includes expertise and nearly two decades in finance, banking and small business development. Mrs Thompson opened the doors to Leander Beauty Supply in January 2023 which is Leander’s first and only multicultural beauty supply store. Mrs. Thompson is a graduate of Baylor University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and then later continued her graduate education earning a Masters of Business Administration. Mrs Thompson ascribes to a philosophy of ‘servant leadership’ and names Their Eyes Were Watching God as her favourite book.

That area around Austin has been trending blue since even before Trump.

Their Eyes is a controversial book for certain people. Probably the best-selling book by any AA author published in 20th century. Good for Thompson to give it some publicity.

Leftists working hard to turn Austin and its surrounding areas into a liberal cesspool like Minneapolis or DC. Congrats
