Rand Paul leans to the Libertarian side of most issues. What I’ve found over the years is Libertarians as group are really different. Some I can find common ground with; others seem downright crazy.

Paul seems to vacillate between the two groups depending on the issue.

In many ways they are the only remain Rs. They actually argue for balancing the budget, something that nobody in leadership of either party seems to care about anymore.

I can agree with that. Fiscally he almost always stays on the conservative side, which I appreciate. Some of his views on social issues are out in left field.

The first people to stop getting paid during a shutdown should be Congress.. But I believe the Constitution has an amendment that prohibits it, hence why they have to pass a bill..

It's sad actually.. They get to give themselves raises and get paid for not doing their jobs...
