Erosion of Trust

You would think those in charge would pull their heads out of their backsides and actually experience the air all around them but that would take someone with an ounce of common sense to actually care enough to shake up or change the current delusional rhetoric that has grown old and stale.
Keep doing the same thing and expect a different result is the definition of ......

RE: Erosion of Trust
The collapse of trust in mainstream institutions — “the media” is certainly one of them but you can list all the others, too — is really the main theme of US history since the 1960s. The rise of Donald Trump is kind of the ultimate rejection — an expression of pure distrust — of those institutions, by essentially one half of the nation.

What's really ironic is Trump was a Dem all his life, until he decided to run for President, and figured it would be easier to do as a Repub rather than as a Dem.
And IMO, he still isn't really a Repub. More like a populist, or even closer, a Trumpian, lol.

RE: Erosion of Trust
What trust?
I was born in the 1970's and I've never really trusted any institution to not be mismanaged and/or corrupt.

I will always believe that if Obama had treated Trump with a little respect and flattery, maybe appoint him to one of those various advisory boards, Trump never would have run at all. The GOP would’ve stayed on the same basic Bush/Cheney/McCain /Romney/Ryan track it had been on ever since Reagan stepped down.

A kind of homemade brew of populism, nationalism, and big-spending welfarism.

Yeah, the really amazing thing is, for better or worse, Trump has completely reshaped the Repub party.

Obama and Biden and the Deep State have destroyed trust in institutions and science.
