RE: Mamdani Plans to Tax Companies Even if They LEAVE New York City
A little known fact: the State of Tennessee has an office in NYC and other big cities to audit and collect taxes due to the state. Nexus works both ways.

NYC might be able to legally defer the full impact of their economic catastrophe on tax collections, but in the long run the picture is bleak.

It is my understanding the State of NY must approve some of the plans of the new mayor. Perhaps sanity will prevail.

I'm no fan of Mamdani's positions, but I find it highly unlikely he goes after any of the LGBTQ community. He knows he is in a very progressive city and that they'll turn on him in a heartbeat.

Not enough of them. His Religious leaders won't stand for him catering to the gays. He is a Militant Muslim. You will see a large influx of Muslims from everywhere fill the vacuum when the "People with Sense" leave NYC. Real Estate prices will plummet, and those properties will be scooped up by Muslims and Communists and filled with these "New" Muslims and they will pay next to nothing to live there.

This is the most likely scenario. Only Trump's immigration policy can slow this down.

Trump can't stop the migration from Dearborn to NYC though. That will be a good thing for Michigan.

The locusts aren't finished with Dearborn yet. They are moving to Minneapolis as we speak. Mamdani will strong arm Albany to get $billions in grants to buy the housing for his "friends" and they will ship the Muslims in and do everything to keep the Feds out of NY. He spoke about it last night verbatim. I personally know Chinese folks that came here in shipping containers. The Muslims will come from Africa the same way. By boat. No need to go into Mexico first no more. Big wharfs in NY.

How is this supposed to work in practice? I suppose the people who voted for this guy didn't question it.

They. Already. Do. It!

Cities tax where the money is made. And most resident cities provide 1:1 credits for that tax paid as well.

Now that New Yorkers have elected a socialist I have they don't have the gall to ask the rest of the country to bail them out when his policies result in economic disaster which historically occurs under those type policies. They voted for it and they deserve the consequences.

Sure they will. Socialism has worked wonders all over. Corporations flock to high tax locations don't they.

You know one mayor isn't going to be able to change the democratic laws of New York City to Socialism, right? 01-wingedeagle

1. Socialism has worked pretty good for Tesla.
2. Zohran is not advocating for an economic socialist system. IE hes not saying that the government should take over the means of production. He is advocating to expand the social safety net and raise taxes on corporations and high income earners.
3. NY and NYC are already high tax areas.
4.Its highly unlikely that Zohran will have the authority or the state support to implement all his campaign promises.

You know that's what he ran on right? You know the policies he touted are historical failures right? You know that some of it will get implemented right? You know it will not attract business right?

So if you raise taxes on high end earners and businesses in an already overtaxed state what is the logical reaction of business and high earners? It's an easy answer as New York is already hemorrhaging people.

New Yorkers better pray for 4.

I assume you mean 4 years..... i got news for you, those taxes will not be temporary. Once that money is coming in, NYC is not going to want (or be able) to live without that income for quite a while.

There is no such thing as a temporary tax, just ask the state of Connecticut. In the early 90's they were able to get their voters to pass a "temporary state income tax" . The only think temporary was the initial rate they charged, it has only increased since.

Number 4 on his list where he says it's unlikely he will get his policies thru.
