DHS Issues Nearly $10 Billion in Fines to Illegal Aliens So They Self-Deport
Quote:Exclusive: Trump’s DHS Issues Nearly $10 Billion in Fines to Illegal Aliens So They Self-Deport from U.S.
President Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is using several tools to pressure illegal aliens to self-deport from the United States, including via their pocketbooks.
DHS officials revealed exclusively to Breitbart News that the agency has issued more than 31,600 fine notices to illegal aliens, totaling more than $9.6 billion.
“Our message is clear: If you’re in the country illegally, leave now or face the consequences,” DHS’s Tricia McLaughlin told Breitbart News.
In particular, DHS is asking illegal aliens to self-deport from the United States using the agency’s CBP Home mobile application, where they can report their self-deportation and, in return, secure a stipend from the federal government.
“Illegal aliens should use the CBP Home app to fly home for free and receive $1,000 stipend, while preserving the option to return the legal, right way,” McLaughlin said. “It’s an easy choice: Leave voluntarily and receive $1,000 check or stay and wait till you are fined $1,000 a day, arrested, and deported without a possibility to return legally.”
Last month, DHS officials said Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was on pace to deport almost 600,000 illegal aliens by the end of the first year of Trump’s second term.
Some two million illegal aliens, DHS officials said, are no longer in the United States — 1.6 million of whom they said have self-deported and more than 400,000 of whom have been deported by ICE agents.
Recently, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News editor in chief Alex Marlow, McLaughlin said Americans can expect deportations to rapidly increase as ICE has hired about 5,000 new agents to help enforce federal immigration law.
“We are certainly on our way, but we expect those numbers to rise,” McLaughlin said.

RE: DHS Issues Nearly $10 Billion in Fines to Illegal Aliens So They Self-Deport
There are some serious consequences for not self deporting. Here is another one that messed around and found out:
https://twitchy.com/brettt/2025/10/23/cb...e-n2420773
Quote:Roberto Mosquera del Peral was one of five men sent to the small kingdom in southern Africa in mid-July as part of the U.S. deportation program to Africa. It has been criticized by rights groups and lawyers, who say deportees are being denied due process and exposed to rights abuses. ...
The Eswatini government said Mosquera was "fasting and praying because he was missing his family" and described it as "religious practices" that it wouldn't interfere with
CBS News reports several paragraphs down that "Mosquera was convicted of murder and other charges," but "his lawyer disputed that and said Thursday he was convicted of attempted murder and other charges. ...
The whole fact that he was living in the U.S. illegally doesn't seem to have even registered with CBS News.

I like the carrot and stick approach and it appears effective.
IMO, the $1,000 stipend is also a humane act because it allows the illegal aliens and their families a start to a new life in their old country. I would support (on a case by case basis, especially with kids) voluntary contributions to ease their transition.
I am pleased to read the deportation effort will intensify. It is important to expel illegal aliens to the extent possible before the next census. I think the combination of red state gerrymandering, general distaste of the Dem's radical agenda, voter ID and other monitoring of voter fraud, exodus from blue states like California, NY, and Illinois, and census with millions of less illegal aliens could spell trouble for the Dem's unless they moderate their positions.

that has been my main argument against ANYTHING downstream ... if there was ever an oxymoron that suits a situation, 'rights of an illegal' is at the top of the list...
this is where "person" vs. "citizen" in the 5th and 14th are used to argue for the illegal ... it's a tried-and-true fan fave from the lawfare/msm sect with a smattering of SCOTUS rulings to back such...
what chaps my arse is there's a clear-cut definition between those who are undocumented vs. those here legally on temporary or work visas ... it's the undocumented that concern most logically thinking folk ... yet, donk-tardia nation continues to try to lump 'em all in the same category ... not only is it disingenuous, but further promotes the division of what the pubs are trying to accomplish in earnest vs. the donks and their 'Geppettos' that are merely using such as political pawns to maintain power thru division within the parties...
honestly, I'm tired of addressing the same thingy to ad nauseam ... however, it's simply too important to ignore...

I say, just use the same due process that Clington and Oblunder used. It worked for them and it should work for us.

Yes. Biden's illegals of 10-12 million need to all be deported. Not concerned about the 10-12 million who were here before unless they were criminals. Once Biden basically announced an open door policy, we got a totally different group of illegals. Criminals, drug dealers, pedophiles and everything else. People looking for American government handouts. It wasn't just the ones desperately seeking a decent living and willing to work. Not that I want to admit any illegals, but deporting the long time ones would be bad for the economy. Our policy should be what's good for American citizens.

Well the carrot is gone. It has been since early September.
I talked to my friend who works for Homeland Security. He was one of the guys stateside helping organize the gift card distribution.
He said the agent on the plane would report how many deportees were on the flight out of the US. My friend would activate cards for the group and the agent on the flight would pass the cards out when the plane landed.
Not as many illegals took advantage of the self-deportation as the administration had hoped.

Well then, they'll have to go out the hard way.
Admin spox just said live that over 2M illegals have now either self-deported or have been deported since Jan 20.

Deport them all. Just by crossing the border, they committed a crime. If they're too lazy to become a citizen the right way, then they shouldn't be here in the first place.
Sorry, not sorry

It's not that they're just too lazy. Most of them wouldn't qualify for asylum. They shouldn't be here at all.

It's the U.N. and other marxist organizations behind the bulk of this invasion of illegals.

Well a lot of far left church groups in Latin America have been promoting it and coaching the illegals.
