So no Kamala, you were not the most qualified.

I don't know how anyone could think she was anywhere near the top. In my lifetime, she is at the bottom with George McGovern and DJT 2016. Everybody else had lots of relevant government and usually private experience. edit-everybody but Barry. I had already forgotten about Obama.

Agreed, and I would add there is a major difference between holding a position, and being accomplished. Kamala and her supporters will say her accomplishments are “first woman of (fill in the blank) in this position.” Now compare her to a guy like HW Bush who had significant experience with foreign diplomacy and executive leadership before and after he was even VP. There are so many other examples I could go thru, including Adams, John Quincy Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, etc.

Well, good thing I didn't say Starbucks, huh? :)

I don't drink coffee, so I looked it up. $3 is the national average for plain coffee. At Starbucks, it's $5.93. Last time I was in Starbucks was a long time ago. I recall regular was $1.75 at the time.

Speaking of food prices, I remember taking my parents, visiting from out of town, in their retirement, to a casual restaurant, when I was in my prime. Decades ago.

Hamburgers were $5. My dad got up and walked out, b/c he refused to pay that much. I explained I was paying, and it made no difference to him. My wife and mother were embarrassed. I thought it was funny. I also knew he wasn't backing down. In his prime, he was used to paying 15 cents at Krystal.

We went somewhere else. Prices weren't really any better, but they didn't have hamburgers, lol.

Just think, it used to be said that "that and 75 cents will get you a cup of coffee."

Took my 13 year to Sonic last month and ordered a cheeseburger, fries and a slushie. When the kid behind the speaker told me it was $14 I just blurted out “seriously?” My kid thought I was being weird, but he just could not comprehend what I paid for that item for nearly the entirety of my life.

Well, he WAS a very successful community organizer who ran with really important people like Bill Ayers.

His election was engineered by global Marxists whose plans to topple our republic have now been disrupted not once, but twice, by the MOB DJT. With JDV waiting in the wings, and with any luck, we won't see another POS democrat in the WH for another decade or more.

I remember when my friend switched from 5 jack in the box burgers to 4 because they went up from 20-25 cents apiece!

Chili's is advertising their trio for $10 (only a few are actually $10 anymore) and saying how McDonald's wants you to go to Chili's since their prices are getting close.
5 Guys usually hits over $40 for 3 of us. Burgers are $12 or more likely $14 or $15 and up if you aren't at a fast food place (or Chili's). My wife has decided she really likes her own burgers better, so we rarely eat them out anymore at those prices. We can thank Joe for that.

5 Guys suck. I tried them when they first came to town and boy was I disappointed. Carls Jr. Famous Star with cheese, hold the special sauce, add mustard and mayo. Delicious, they're my favorite and for second place Jack in the Box's cheap cheese burgers. They're small but delicious with a side of tacos and curly fries.

From a pricing standpoint, there really is no difference anymore between fast-food and dining in at a Chili’s or other places in that category. Bang for your buck might as well go to Chili’s.

We normally do not eat out much at all, but when we do we just get pizza.

I'll give Kamala credit, she did have some executive experience. She ran a department of 5,000 employees. That's a lot more than Gore, Kerry, McCain, Obama, or Biden. But it's still a lot less than the numerous candidates who were governors, or especially Eisenhower.

More crucially though, she had very little foreign policy experience; she was mostly assigned to domestic policy roles during her Vice Presidency. Even Dukakis, W Bush, and Clinton were about equal to her in that category; only Trump and Carter are below her among modern candidates.

IMO, George H.W. Bush was easily the most qualified President of all time. The next best were probably Eisenhower and Jefferson.

Bush's career:
1943-1945: US Navy pilot, flew 58 combat missions and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. At one point he was shot down and floated in the ocean until he was rescued by a submarine.
1945-1948: attended Yale, graduated in 3 years.
48-63: 15 year business career in oil industry, starting as an equipment salesman, then founding his own firm, then rising up to President of a mid-sized firm with several hundred employees
64-66: ran for US Senate, lost, then ran for US House
67-71: House member for 2 terms
71-73: Ambassador to the UN
73-74: Chair of Republican National Committee
74-75: chief of US Liaison Office to China (effectively the Ambassador)
76-77: Director of CIA
78-79: built up a Presidential campaign, winning 9 states in the primaries
80-88: Vice President

That losing Senate campaign in Texas 1964 was with LBJ/Goldwater at the top of the ticket. A very challenging environment for a GOP. Bush ran a strong race and every GOP throughout the state was grateful for his skillful campaign — he lost by about 12 pts. while Goldwater lost by 27.

Her political career honestly ended on November 6 last year. At some level, she is probably aware of that, and so feels free to let the bitterness and recriminations flow freely when Kara Swisher is tossing out softball questions before an adoring audience in Washington, DC.

But it’s still a bad look, and if any Dems. were still sitting on the fence in terms of her viability for ’28, public statements like that will help remove all doubt.
