I am very much anti banning. I am fine with trolling, I enjoy taking part in trolling, and I enjoy trashing and insulting people on these boards. However, it really is mostly all in good fun and I'd share a beer with any of you in real life and debate sports/politics/whatever and it's not that serious. This is real, this is serious, this is heartbreaking, and it was very obvious from that clip this was probably the tragic outcome, and he went to that place. I'm like actually emotional about this and just to be completely honest I really didn't like Kirk at all, because that's a young man who's kids are going to grow up without their dad.

Agreed, man. My heart breaks for his family. It really does. There's no excuse for cold-blooded murder, especially over political differences. Now as for that beer, in my case, it'd have to be either a Dr Pepper, Coke, sweet tea, or water. (I don't drink anymore.) And hey, I know exactly what you mean. I did kinda troll you and the rest of the ECU fan base back in 2011 during one of Houston football's best seasons ever. I get it. (Heck, that's how we first met on this forum. lol) Other than that, which I did start, and politics, you've always been a good guy, in my book, even if we do prod each other sometimes.

Oh, and I also went to give Tom a -3 on the post in question a little bit ago, but he deleted it. What a coward.

As far as banning goes----lets not. Charlie Kirk constantly would make the point that we must be allowed to talk to each other---to disagree freely with each other----otherwise---the only outlet remainng for political disagreements becomes violence. I agree with Kirk's view point completely on that issue.

It's one thing to want to actively engage is serious yet civil political debate. It's another to deliberately troll. The latter is Tom's MO.

Heartbroken by today's events. Political violence has no place in this country. I'd say the same if it was a leader on the left that I can not stand. This is a sickness in our country that is growing. Sadly, the violent rhetoric has been increasing over the past several years.

I'm sad also that his wife and two young kids were there and probably witnessed their dad being murdered. That will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

I believe that this action may trigger other events. Hope I am wrong and cooler heads prevail.

The left has declared war on those they disagree with. Many of those who disagree with them are unaware of this.

Yesterday, talk radio guy Jesse Kelly was on a scorching rant about the communists among us. I can predict what his entire show will be about today. Without the gunman in custody, maybe he saves part of the rant until they have him and he says something. I hope the FBI is geared up and working hard to find this shooter.

Bring back the mental institutions. They will fill up quickly.

I started the week taking my family to dinner on Monday evening. A very nice waitress took care of us and was super sweet. Before we wrapped up she asked if we went to church and we talked about that for a minute. She then asked all of our names and asked to pray for us. She prayed over the table and called us each out by name, it was a nice gesture.

She was 22 years old and gave her life to the Lord 2 years ago, she shared her story.

The world needs more of that.

Not this mess. Not the rot that is the abnormal woke mob.

I've teared up several times already watching people on tv talk about him, his wife and kids, and the positive affect he had on the youth of this country. He was only 6 years older than my oldest kid and its a gut punch. I've never had this reaction to any famous person dying. I feel for those folks but it never really affected me anything like this.

I went out earlier and lowered my flag to half staff in memory of Charlie. RIP young man.
