Last I saw, when a force can track a boat, it can sure as hell can interdict it.

Last I saw the policy was to interdict, board, gather evidence and hand them over.

Now I guess it is to simply spot someone and blow it up. Seems pretty inane to me given the above. Something best reserved to a tinpot authoritarian and geared to those who dont really understand anything but 'show of force' as the only solution to anything and everything.
