Which begs the real question. Does anybody really believe that those eggs provide 3 times as much benefit to the human body as the regular eggs at $2.50?
It's largely a sales pitch, IMO. Humans thrived for years on unprocessed eggs straight from the chicken with no problems. Then they started doing whatever they do to them, and, well, humans continued to thrive on them. My nephew has chickens and hasn't bought an egg in 4 years. He swears they are noticeably better in taste, but to me, an egg is an egg is an egg; I have never noticed any difference. Could be that my pallette isn't as discerning as it once was. I probably eat, on average, 6 eggs a month.
I'm not going to criticize anyone for their eating choices. If someone wants to pay 8 bucks a dozen for free-range chicken-produced organic eggs that's their business.
I don't care, either. But since they brought it up, I just can't fathom that some eggs are 3 times better than other eggs, lol.
Free range eggs are definitely richer. So if you like to scramble them, fry them, or make an omelet, those are the way to go. We purchase our neighbors free rnage eggs and we use them for that. We'll use the inexpensive egglands best eggs for baking.
