This board is mostly comprised of males in the South, and of course is majority conservative. Therefore, it is likely reflective of southern males, but nobody else.

And everything said here by males in the south will of course come true in the states most come from except maybe Georgia but it’s not a Reflection of how all people think all across this country.

Well, that was profound.

To try to summarize it in a short paragraph, conservatives believe in a constrained vision of mankind and liberals an unconstrained vision. Liberals think mankind can be trained and "perfected" into perfect beings. In the meantime, experts should tell the rest what to do. And the laws should not apply to experts because the end justifies the means. Conservatives believe people are inherently flawed, greedy and corrupted by power. Thus you need laws to constrain people and encourage them to behave properly. This applies even more to experts because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

If you think about the Wuhan pandemic, it fits perfectly. And the correctness of the constrained vision was never more apparent with the lies and corruption of the experts.

it's obvious he was easily in muh muh muh camp of "back 'em into a corner and watch the puppies go 'woofy-woof' ... "

I see this forum as largely white, middle class male… the demographic that largely falls into the Trump’s base of support. There are a handful of liberals who show up periodically; but this forum, as I would assume most college sports forums are, is made up primarily of white conservative males.

while that would represent the core, this board has the four corners and the center (highest density) covered ... it's why I visit to this day (not going to quit or go the Mach self ban, but the posting is going to be dramatically reduced after this one's decided ... there's too little time with more important thingys to finish moving forward)

this board has been a 'gem' ... be it diamonds in the rough --->>> fools gold ... it's been enlightening coupled with too many PMs I never saw coming ... #humbling

Agree. That's why I said "mostly comprised." A little bit of everything, but more of us. I don't consider one-offs to be a trend.

This board is not even close to being an accurate reflection of the American population. School like Texas and Bama have tons of t-shirt fans that never went to their universities. But this board has a high number of fans from lesser known school, and these people almost certainly graduated or are currently enrolled. Lots of old people too. Really old.

As a Brooklyn, NY native with a couple of college degrees from Memphis State University, I’d have to disagree with you.

There are a lot of people here like that.

Just look at it this way, the majority of this board will be just fine when the 01-rivals hits the fan. The majority of Americans won't survive the first 30 days.

RE: Is this board a reflection of how most Americans think, regarding politics?
I'm not conservative and think republicans 10+ years ago were wrong just like democrats after Clinton are wrong. I don't want government playing a major role in my life. I dont need them to "protect" my children or grandchildren. That was my job as a parent, not the school, government, the lady down the street, or the preacher at the church.

I'm way more liberal than most on this board and until after Clinton didn't have a problem with the welfare programs. The laws in place were doing a good enough job to keep the cheating down for the most part to 1%. For a government program that's great. Hardly anyone getting a form of "welfare" is not also working. So I don't see the problem as some of you do.

I want the government out of of the prison system over what I want to put into my body. There's more than enough laws on the book to punish a person if their action affects someone else.

For the most part I believe unions were needed and played a important role. They still do today and in a consumer based economy you would not see the huge gap if everyone had a union. If there is no balance in profit vs labor.....

you still have the high prices but lower wages

To make my point has the price of the cars/trucks went down or even held steady with steady growth by moving the making of them to low wage countries? No they haven't the prices rose higher than when American made with union wages. The only difference is banks are now lending to more and more people that can't afford to make the payments.

You can do that across the board other than items that are outpacing the price with new tech. Otherwise what in the last 20 years have become throw away once tech has made something better in a short period of time.

I dont care if you are gay, straight, or go both ways and same goes for trans. The government should not be making special laws to dictate any of those. More than enough laws to cover "hate crimes". If everyone was in a union you wouldn't need government to make work place laws.

If someone says the f word or anything else or two guys kiss, or a number of things. It's my job as a parent to explain to my children MY VALUES and to install those into my child and then step aside or never force my values on to my adult children. I dont need the government to do my job.

My views on defense is now in line with Trumps view and what use to be democrats views. I believe we can cut spending enough in this area and still be as safe s we are when we spent 25% more.

So I believe I'm a lot more liberal than a lot on this board

It is unfortunate that our Presidential Elections mean so much now.

This wasn't what our Founders intended.

The President was supposed to be the manager of the laws Congress passed, not the decider of which laws are enforced and how.

The Imperial Presidency and the explosion of Executive Power is part of the degradation of our Republic. No one individual was meant to have that much power.

Weird. I have 3 degrees, including a Masters and Ph.D. in Business, and every person I know on this board has a college degree.

It was never meant to be a winner take all approach either. The winner would be President, and the runner-up would be Vice President.

Seems like the vast majority on here have college degrees. Only about 35% of the country does, so this board is not typical. And it seems like the vast majority live in or near major cities (top 60 metros).
