Is this board a reflection of how most Americans think, regarding politics?
I would say American men, since I assume that most here are indeed men, but there may be more women here than we think.
Is this board a decent representation of our society? If not what portion do we represent here, using the broad brush we often use.
Is it just white guys with decent income and jobs?
Seems we are mostly conservative here, other than the typical outliers that exist in all groups.
I guess my point is, I can’t imagine any red blooded American male, who provides for his family and possibly others, logically voting for harris and/or any liberal right now. I just can’t.

This board is more libertarian and more conservative than most. Tort lawyers, college employees, government employees, teachers, social workers, nurses all tend to be liberal. I think young workers in the tech field tend to be libertarian/liberal.

You would think this board would be somewhat representative, and obviously leans way right, and yet there are millions and millions of people out there that will vote for her/them.

If this board and Trump voters align, I have no reason to think it's not the case, then it's white men who don't have college degrees and live in rural areas. Check out how that demographic thinks and you have this board.

I suspect most posters here have college degrees, simply the nature of a mostly college sports forum. Things like that obviously over your head.

The bolded part caught my attention. Decades ago, a huge percent of men were providing for and protecting their families. Today an ever decreasing number of men are getting married and having families to provide for...
I dont believe this forum is representative of America or even all men of America. Id wager most here are older men and not representative of all men. There are a handful of women here but even they aren't representative of American women.

If you want to understand the divide in America, Thomas Sowell has a brilliant book, A Conflict of Visions, that he wrote in the 80s that perfectly describes today.
To try to summarize it in a short paragraph, conservatives believe in a constrained vision of mankind and liberals an unconstrained vision. Liberals think mankind can be trained and "perfected" into perfect beings. In the meantime, experts should tell the rest what to do. And the laws should not apply to experts because the end justifies the means. Conservatives believe people are inherently flawed, greedy and corrupted by power. Thus you need laws to constrain people and encourage them to behave properly. This applies even more to experts because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
If you think about the Wuhan pandemic, it fits perfectly. And the correctness of the constrained vision was never more apparent with the lies and corruption of the experts.

RE: Is this board a reflection of how most Americans think, regarding politics?
If you want to get into specific policies, it kind of gets into experts and the end justifies the means. But the Democrats won't argue their policies, because they know they are unpopular.
They think America is evil and its unfair that we are wealthy. They want to spread that wealth around to the rest of the world. They think nationalism is bad.
They don't understand climate change (which is obvious from things like them all living on the coast), but they think they do. And that means deliberately driving up energy prices to encourage conservation. Driving up car prices so people can't afford cars. Shrinking the American manufacturing economy since we tend to use more energy per capita than most of the world.
They think expert judges should ignore the law and rule based on what ends they think are best and that judges should ignore legislatures and the people's will.
They think government should decide winners and losers in the economy based on what experts think is best, not on the free market. This is really just a different version of Stalin's and Mao's 5 year plans that starved tens of millions.
Oddly enough, they trust authority much more than conservatives do. You would think it would be the opposite.
Many have been indoctrinated into this in schools that are dominated by liberals. Some just come by it naturally.

Agree. This board clearly skews right—which I like. Mostly male—mostly older too.

Expert politicians are the back of the class crowd. Those that couldn’t make it in the business world but have an innate ability to lie. They are not being experts as they serve. They are simply trying to keep power any way they can.
The only thing the expert politicians are good at is mucking things up then promising to fix them.

I think this is just a reflection of the region most of these posters are from. It’s southern based males for the most part. They are going to reflect heavy Trump but women are out numbering men by ten points. And more women are voting. A lot of me. Are blowholes but don’t actually vote. Yes they are loudmouths but they will go duckhunting on Election Day. Women vote. Trump is a great candidate to motivate that base but he also is someone who alienates. So u live or die by Donald Trump. That being said I have no clue who will win. It could honestly go either way

Hard to understand, but there is truth here. I know this from experience living in the south and might just be because TN is so far red they don't feel the need to vote. The most vocal conservatives I know couldn't tell me where they are supposed to go vote. All bark and no bite if you will.
I'm sure it's different in battleground states, but if it isn't there's an explanation for you.
But no, this board is not a reflection of America in general. Most American's are probably more centrist than anything and this board is most certainly on the deep end of the red spectrum.

It’s the same with the black community. Black men can say they support Trump but the majority of those black Trumpers are probably not going to vote and never were. Black women on the other hand are a powerhouse of the voting block. Most men are very opinionated but won’t take the time to vote. U have to have the female support

I don't think most Americans really think about politics, too busy living life, I guess would be the best way of saying it

The "experts" most rely on are what would be called the "Deep State" on this board. National security experts, State Department diplomacy experts, Scientists appointed by the left to lead committees and Fauci and the CDC mafia, etc.

I agree with several things said above.
This board is mostly comprised of males in the South, and of course is majority conservative. Therefore, it is likely reflective of southern males, but nobody else.

And everything said here by males in the south will of course come true in the states most come from except maybe Georgia but it’s not a Reflection of how all people think all across this country.
