I said it when it happened that paying him $5M after he was courted at $8-9M was a slap in the face. Now it comes back to bite us. We saved a few bucks and ruined the program for years. So shortsighted.

It has nothing to do with money...all things similar, he would still be heading to Wisconsin. It's what he wanted, to get back to the Big Ten and make one of those programs into a national winner.

bull****. He was going to the Big12 with a chance to compete for the league title. Wisconsin on most accounts here is worse than B12 Cincy. We disrespected the **** out of the guy. How else do you explain the forever talk before the $5M and then gone in the first year after. Cincy bigtime let me tell ya.

Because he knew his stock would falling the next few seasons.
