I think this opening is problematic for us for a variety of reasons. NW needs to bring in a character coach to fix this. CC's record is an easier sell to NW alumni given their recent on-field performance and his history at EMU. Evanston is close enough to make frequent trips. This is big trouble.

I think they ride it out with an interim coach or find someone currently unemployed for '23 before finding a permanent solution toward season end. It's doubtful CC would jump ship right before the season but will certainly be in play come Nov/Dec if they don't have a permanent solution by then. I just don't know that he'd want to be the doormat of the B1G with USC and UCLA coming in soon.

Yes - Candle would be a great get for Northwestern but I would hate to see him leave Toledo. I believe Candle underachieves at Toledo
