My “first set lost” factoid came from the LHN announcers which otherwise I thought were very good (and not exceedingly biased, either). Maybe I misheard and it was something like first set lost at home, I dunno.

Another quote they gave was from the Houston coach who mentioned how much Rice’s scrimmage vs UT helped the Owls compared to Houston who “had” to play us cold in their season opener (their only other loss before tonight).

UH did look good in spots and I was impressed they put up a good fight tonight.

So that's their excuse for being swept by us (with only one of the 3 sets being close)? If they did not schedule an exhibition match prior to the season-opener that's their own fault.

Plus, we didn't have Bichelmeyer vs UH.
