They were running out 4 and 5 man fronts and keeping 7 in the box even when we were working out of 10 personnel. The OL can't get the 2nd level when you have to block man to man on the LOS, and the LBs were just filling holes and making plays...I made comments in the game thread numerous times that the LBs didn't miss a tackle all game. Indiana was loading up against the run all day, and once we got up 4 TDs, coaches made the determination to play conservative and try to run clock rather than do what we were killing them with in the 1st half, Fickell said as much in his post game presser and admitted he needs to consider not doing that in the future.

The funny part about this is that there are STILL people saying "We should have put in Prater!" 03-lmfao They were loading up to stop the run. Ya think the solution was to put in the RUNNING QB? That's exactly why CLF and staff didn't put him in.

There are a lot of people who don't get the true x's and o's and that's ok...unfortunately, Twitter has made those people far more present today than ever before. They used to just be guys yelling from Shank and getting drowned out by the 8th rendition of "You Can Call Me Al" from the Marching Band.

We stupid unknowers of x's and o's unlike condescending chick-fil-a guy... who knows it all, by the way... contend that stats do not tell the story.

Ben Bryant is perhaps on pace to break yardage records because that is all he can do. If we can't RUN the ball, we are looking at the first half of the Arkansas game and the second half of the IU game ALL SEASON.

Desmond Ridder didn't throw for as many yards because HE DIDN'T HAVE TO. Ridder caused the defenses to respect the RUN... PASS... OPTION. Ridder could pull the ball down and run if the receivers were covered. Ridder also gave us the power of the play action fake. We have neither with Bryant in there.

IU game planned to make Bryant beat them. In the first half he did. In the second have we sucked.

All we football ignorant commoners are asking for is to at least put Prater in there and see what happens. What did we have to lose???? Five straight three and outs????

Five straight was like watching paint dry, only more stressful.

I don't know all the intricacies of blocking schemes but the running plays seemed pretty vanilla to me. I can't recall Tucker getting a sweep to the outside or other creative attempts to get a first down. Every series felt like the movie Groundhog Day.

Had any of the RB's snapped off just one 20 yard run during that stretch it might have re-ignited a stagnant offense. One UC score, of any kind, in the third quarter might well have reduced the crowd's fear of impending collapse that raised the anxiety level moment to moment in the second half. Maybe it's just the downside of going into halftime leading by four touchdowns. Yet another example that the quality of our problems continues to improve--nursing along a four touchdown lead against a B10 opponent.
