Mid season we were playing awful. Sendy sounded defeated and said we needed to enjoy playing together again. Several games into the win streak the announcers in a game said the team had bonded when they started rapping together, with Rollins as the DJ. At least to my knowledge none of the rapping was public. Now what we know it seems clear that some of the raps were crossing a line, but if you're the coaches how do you stop something that's working?

Fast forward to last night/this morning... This video is shared in snapchat then shows up on the internet. An important distinction that seems to have been glossed over is that it was not posted. It was sent out on Snapchat. Someone took it and shared it. The only place I saw it shared was an Akron Twitter account (it's since been taken down).

It reads to me as if there was a wolf in the hen house (Snapchat) and this was a social media hit excellently performed. I'm curious if the video was even from last night or if it was being held on to for awhile. Reason I bring that up is one of the lyrics was "F number 4". #4 was Greg Trimble who was kicked off the Akron team weeks ago (and by all accounts a delightful gentleman worthy of being told to F off).

Not excusing any of the players. Just saying it feels like a social media hit to paint us as the villains. We were dumb enough to let it happen and now we have to live with the consequences of it.

I hope all the players realize that their team, their school, and their coach are getting dragged on social media for it and keep that in mind with every shot they put up this off season.

Edit: At first I said I thought we wore white last night. I think my Google search was returning pictures from our matchup with OU last year. It looks like we did wear grays.

I ended up seeing a video from Akron's locker room tonight. Looked like the same carpet. So video was likely recorded last night. Still interested to know how it made it's way from SC to Twitter.
