Call me crazy but Temple used to have a pretty good basketball program when they were in the Atlantic 10. They also had more local rivalries. Now they fly all over the country to play teams that no one knows anything about. No offense to the teams but they are too dissimilar and too far away.

Temple has been an historically bad football school. No one cares about it. If they played some of the programs from their region, maybe fans would take an interest. No on gets excited about losing to Cinci by 50 or watching Temple play against low-level FBS opponents. Delaware would be a great rival for Temple being only 40 minutes away. In the CAA they would play smaller state schools like Maine, UNH, URI, UD, Albany, William and Mary, James Madison and some nearby private schools like Villanova and Richmond. It is purely greed that keeps the administration focused on FBS football. They dream of making money like PSU and Pitt do. It will never happen.
