Dammit Nickle you had to post this! The last time we listened to a B1G coach with respect to a new hire, it was the less than great Lloyd Carr's recommendation of Ron English. We can all thank Lloyd for the dumpster fire he left us with.

That said, Izzo's blessing is different this time. Stan is an alum and English was not. Ron already had his eyes on bigger things and at his age Stan, less so. Finally Izzo is still coaching unlike feckless Lloyd, so I assume he can provide some assistance to Stan.

Stan Heath has been a successful head basketball coach for multiple programs. English was a career assistant who was in over his head. Totally different situations.

Agree, AND some people thought that English wasn't a great DC, but rather was beneficiary of coaching a lot to top drawer talent.

No one accuses MAC teams, Arkansas, So. Florida as being haven for top talent.
