I'm not saying I agree with how this all went down, but john was not getting it done and needed to move on

So, explain how "we just screwed your friend so we didn't have to pay him but don't worry we are getting those locker rooms and IPF" is better?

Just being real honest here, my experience in working with similar contractual situations here, word travels real fast when you screw people out of money. Those who do that usually end up hurting. Those who do so under false pretenses usually go out of business because no one who is any good and supports their family is taking that risk of not getting paid.

As I said your AD took a bad situation and turned it into a cluster****

The only smart answer here was to eat the hire for another year. If you get rid of him settle and pay.

Instead he lost his basketball team, his basketball coach, gave up any chance at keeping Fickell and lowered the reputation of UC as a legitimate employer who you get a fair deal with 04-bow that is quite some run in what two years?

Does the fact that Brannen's teams sucked factor in at all???

Valid reason to fire the guy but not a valid reason to not pay him.

Why is that so hard for them to get?

"No it's fine, when hiring from a limited and well connected field, there is nothing wrong with accusing someone so you don't have to pay them so bad their friends in another limited and well connected field allow public statements about it"

It's not that you fired the guy, it's that your AD went after him so he wouldn't have to pay him. If you watch your boss fire a guy so he doesn't have to sign his paycheck, what's the chances that won't be you next time he doesn't want to pay? It's a trust and word of mouth business, who is going to work for that guy? Who would want too. This search is going to be comprehensive because you are going to have a hard time getting qualified people to apply.

Its honestly the only reason its a headline. Just pay the man. Its part of the cost of doing business. Even Memphis was decent enough to pay Tubby.
