He said UT is concerned about the overall strength of the SEC and that it is increasingly difficult to recruit the best kids away from the SEC West including A&M. If Bevo bails on the Big 12, I can see the seismic shift leaving the PAC, Big 12 leftovers, and G5 scrambling. Interesting if the AAC is choosing to expand at this time. The AAC must think they are in danger of being poached in this seismic shift rather than pick up the Baylors and Wake Forests that might be vulnerable.

It sounds to me like UT made a bet that they could still dominate recruiting in the state even with the SEC having a presence there. I don't how it would affect the PAC, unless you're thinking that several programs from there might head to the B1G. If that's what you're thinking then I could somehow see it. PAC and Big Ten programs share a lot in common except for geography.

ESPN has been angling for Texas for a long time. At least in the SEC Texas doesn't have a branding disadvantage with A&M. Alabama and Auburn would move East and Texas and their traveling companion (OU/TTU/KU) would have a Western Division that's not as super strong as most like to claim would discourage them. I've felt pretty good about the SEC's chances in this for a long time. It really is the only move that puts Texas back on top in Texas and does so in spades.

The revenue gap is about to be too massive to resist further.
