I remember him claiming the WAC was going to attempt FBS again.
The WAC is now saying they have long term FBS aspirations.
He also claimed a Southern conference would emerge as a new FBS conference.

The Great Northern to me makes the most sense but seems like he got that one wrong.
I just wanted to acknowledge he did predict these current moves .
He got a lot of flack for it seems like he knew something after all.

RE: Nodak
His vision was a mix of Big Sky and MVFC schools so he was a little off but yes, he did maintain that the WAC wasn’t out of the game so on that account he was correct

Too bad he didn’t live to see it

I said WAC FBS was in the cards long before any words got out. I said Lamar, Sam Houston State, SFAU and West Texas A&M to the WAC over a year now. He wanted the Big Sky schools. Weber State not Southern Utah does have the stadium to go FBS.

Can you show a little respect for the dead? Vandal here is lamenting the fact a deceased poster called the WAC rebuild but died before it actually happened.

RE: Nodak
I never saw the WAC FBS thing coming close to ever happening. Now, you have the league and ADs publicly talking about it and committing to analysis. NoDak called that one.

The Great Northern never came together but he predicted other things like the WAC and in college hockey as well. Good for him.

Good thread.

West Texas A&M hasn’t joined though. You probably said those Texas 3 a long time ago, when they were actually pursued by the WAC. You also didn’t “predict” ACU or SUU to the WAC.

You also “predicted” NJIT to the MEAC days before they jumped to the America East. Did you “predict” UCA to the ASun?

He predicted every possible move by virtue just by the sheer quantity of his predictions lol. Nothing special there

Actually, NoDak wanted the Great Northern Conference, but I told him the WAC will get there first before he started on that. He tried to used his Great Northern Conference to become the WAC.

RE: Nodak
NoDak will end up more or less correct. I think he mostly talked about an 8-team Great Northern conference, right? Dakota and Montana schools, Idaho, and Eastern Washington?

Seems likely they'd make the move to FBS if the Atlantic Sun and WAC also emerge in the FBS.

I think NoDak's point was mostly: there's obvious instability in many of the FCS conference alignments, there's been a huge shift to the FBS in recent years, and these schools effectively cannot achieve their goals by staying in the FCS (i.e. aligning themselves with peer institutions, establishing national prominence, etc.). If you make those assumptions, the predictions he made become pretty reasonable.

RE: Nodak
He was a North Dakota fan and wanted the Great Northern conference most of all.
He later claimed the WAC and an Eastern Southern conference are making plans for FBS .
So I would say the WAC and ASUN qualify obviously .
I hope he ends up being right on all three but 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
These conferences might never end up being FBS but publicly stating the desire proves him right.
