One of Clemsons biggest advantages is having an ACC schedule every year for multiple reasons. They have plenty of money and no desire to change.

Yeah, at some point the ability to have the easier path to the playoff and titles is going to counterweight the finances to at least some degree. It needs to be close enough but a 1:1 equivalent pay isn't going to be the only way they don't move.

I think it's very short term thinking to give up bigger paychecks in the future for more championships. There's no guarantee teams will be great in football forever. Florida State chose the "easier path to a national championship" back in the 90's. You think they're regretting that now? It will be close to if not impossible now for FSU to catch up to Florida in football. If Clemson stays competing for national championships, you can certainly make the argument it's easier to win in the ACC and more championships means more money ... in the short term. If Clemson becomes a mediocre team, they become 2nd choice to South Carolina ... and 2nd choice to Florida State because if you want to play in the ACC would you rather play in Florida or South Carolina?
