That is actually pretty spot on to what I was told by an unnamed member of the football staff. They used covid as a convenient excuse to avoid coming to ODU and losing on the road.

I mean I get why uva would be afraid to come to Norfolk but it is not going to be a great look when you have Tech coming here long term and other regional ACC teams not having an issue of playing us home and home. The hubris of the uva athletic department and university as a whole continues to amuse me.

You may be way over reacting. I personally do not know UVA's future schedules. However, it may very well be trying to find an open spot that fits our and theirs schedules is not easy. For instance, with the WF game we are now full through 2024. No openings. UVA very likely had a game already scheduled for that date.
